Boychuk a healthy scratch again today for the Pens... Should be back in Charlotte by end of the week (in my opinion)

I'm sure Zac Dalpe misses him.

This isn't 100% Checkers related since it's the Everblades, but I didn't see it posted anywhere else.

Evansville IceMen Cool ‘Blades in 21-Round Shootout.

Yep. A 21-round shootout involving 42 shooters. Strangely enough, this only tied the ECHL record.

In keeping with our system, they lost the shootout btw.

Peters want return a Hurricane.

Also, Terry had the lone goal and Shugg and Pither had the assists.

Terry and Pither want call-up.

I still don't understand how Chris Terry hasn't played an NHL game yet. Kid's played too well in his time in Albany/Charlotte to not even be given a CHANCE at the NHL level.

Kind of excited about the Pither trade now, didn't like it at the time but he's proving he's an actual player!

I've been wondering that myself. With our bottom 6 lacking definition as is, wouldn't hurt at all to give him a shot at establishing himself. Not that Charlotte would take too kindly to us taking another top player

From those of who I have talked to, he is a defensive liability.

As long as we leave them Luke "Anton" Pither I think they'll be OK...

Damn. And just like that Nodl is done:

Paul Branecky ‏@PaulBranecky
Andreas Nodl is done for the year, says Daniels. No specific timetable on Dalpe, who may be back by end of reg. season. Lower-body injuries

I think you may be getting Boychuk back fairly soon. I didn't see it happening at first since he initially played well but he's struggled to get in the lineup lately and the Pens recently signed Mark Eaton. They'll need a roster spot once Malkin comes off IR from his concussion which should happen sooner than later since he's already started going through some practices with contact. Boychuk is the likely odd man out unless they have a trade lined up to move someone else or do something incredibly stupid like send Despres down.

Sundays are usually a good day for the Checkers.

He has really fallen back down to earth after last season. Part of me wonders if the Canes regret giving him a contract. Seems like he posted league average numbers in the ECHL too.

BTW, F U Andersen.

Looks like Boychuk will be playing tonight for the Preds in their match against the Oilers. He'll be wearing #23 for them and in practice was on a line with Hornqvist and Fisher. Over/under on games he'll play before taking up the position he plays best (IE in the press box with a plate of nachos in his lap?)

Smurfchuk tried to check someone and almost wound up flat on his butt...and then almost scored on his own goalie. I wonder if he'll last fewer games in Music City than he did in the 'Burgh.
