All seven are under multi-year contracts and are producing points and/or hits and significant ice time in a top-4 role. Basically I drafted seven 2nd pairing defensemen. What is lacking in topend talent is made up for in depth. I expect 2-3 productive years out of the group. With many value-priced forwards in the mix, there is ample trade opportunities to shore up the blueline a couple of years down the road, plus of course draft pick priority for defensemen in entry drafts.

The San Jose Sharks of the JM League is deep at center ice and a forward core deep in NHL 2nd liners, full of 2nd pairing dmen and with decent goaltending. The team is built to contend over the next 2-3 years. Of course, a blueline re-building mode may follow that, unless trade opportunities and subsequent drafting indicates otherwise.

The team does not have sizzling pie-in-the-sky prospects, half of whom never reach even regular NHL producer status. Nor elite NHLers, aside from Zetterberg. But there are several quality producing young NHL forwards with huge upside and great value for the dollar.

I am enjoying building the team. Anyone who thinks it's not a playoff squad with 2nd round potential at the very least is not paying attention.

See you in Head-to-head competition in the Shark Tank!

I PM'd Philly saying he was about to be up, must have misunderstood. I'm not autoing Corvo to CGY and PHX's list does not have Corvo on it so unless Montreal wants him, we will leave it.

J-Moss how is this whole thing working out? Like what are we using to determine what team is the best? Is it a head to head league that plays through a sim or what? Sorry if this is answered somewhere already @_@

First, no more posting in the draft thread unless it's your pick...

It's a head to head league yes, but it's points not sim.

We will use everyone in this league to vote on the teams. There will be more details when we get closer.

What are we using to determine who wins in the head to head match-ups?

Also my bad.

Sorry, I should be more clear...what stats are we using? Also your original post in this thread is broken up into two very nearly identical posts...you should clean it up so people don't get confused as to which set of rules/site we're using.

It's weird taking scrubs over good prospects

espn.

You're drafting off of PPG, SHG, GWG, G, A, +/-, Blocked Shots, Hits, TOI, PIM's

It's weird taking non-NHLers over NHLers when as a GM your responsibility is to ice a competitive team. Of course, Oilers and Leafs fans know what sucking in the regular season is all about for years and years now.

Aren't we doing PK time and PP time?

What gave you that idea? There is already PPG and SHG! and TOI! All of these are related to pp and pk performers.

Man...I am really liking the way my team is coming together. I think it could easily compete to be one of the best, if not the best team right now...but just looking at my roster the only players on my team that are 30 and over:

Chris Kelly (32)
Tim Gleason (30)
David Moss (31)
Craig Anderson (31)
Dustin Penner (30)

...and I already have a full team with some top prospects as well as the best player in the world. Pretty excited

CBJ is proud to have both of TOR Goons, hopefully this will propel us to a PIM tittle!

I believe Matt Martin, Jared Boll and Steve Ott on the same team will have the PIM title on lockdown.

Why did Chicago sign off when it's his pick? I would love to be able to make mine and get on with my day.

TOR goons are Orr/McLaren. Brown was riding the bench the last couple games

Impressive goon squad nonetheless

Hoping McLeod and Konopka hold up their ends for me. 2 top 10 PMers if they stay healthy.
