The hab's have been mentioned often.
What would it take for him do you think?
Would you want him? He has a monster contract 85 million 11 years with 7 years remaining I think.
If they trade for him. God don't include Pacioretty or P.K. in the trade. I'd stop watching hab games.
Are we really going back to this?

Until he retires.
Even then, the rumour will be if Vinny will come out of retirement to play for the Habs.
Montreal could have had him in 1998. Houle had a decent relationship with Esposito and I'm sure he could have made a package for Esposito to take. However, the trigger wasn't pulled. So it'll never be pulled. And people should give it up. If Lecavalier wanted to be a Hab, he would have never signed an extension with Tampa.

Chris Stewart
What would it take to get him from STL?
His contract is up this year. I'd love to see Montreal move Gio and pick up Stewart.

Damn I like that call. But it's gonna be something else than Gio.

Yeah, I didn't mean Gio for Stewart straight up. I was just thinking of how great it would be to have him instead of Gionta.

Troy Brouwer
I heard he was available. Might have to ship a prospect and a pick like Louis Leblanc and 2nd round pick.
Troy Brouwer 6'3" 220lbs would give size.

This.
Why would anyone want this guy in their locker room after the comments he made during the lockout?

I wanted him when he had a bad rep in St. Louis and his value was at his lowest. This year he's playing much better so they would be asking much more.
But if MB could do something with Gionta+ for Stewart it would be great IMO.
St. Louis could use a cup winner veteran like Gionta for their playoffs run.

Another RW would be nice. Chris Stewart is enticing but would likely fetch a decent return and it's not like STL is selling.
I think Peter Mueller from Florida could be had for cheap, they've gotta be looking to get any assets they can.

Danny Kristo could come in and do that job.

Absolutely, but if the Habs are in a position to go on a bit of a run I wouldn't mind grabbing a more proven player if the price is cheap.
I wouldn't be upset if Kristo was there though, I also don't mind Leblanc on the wing.

His contract make him a don't touch. Especially with the cap going down.

How about a 2nd round pick and a prospect for Steven Weiss?

He's having a rough year and doesn't really fit a need. We already have like 6 centers.

While I like Matt Martin, once again he's a guy who gives 20 lbs to a guy like Lucic. Not fair of a fight.

You can't send a guy Lucic's size after him or he won't fight. Thornton is the opposite, he'll fight bigger guys and take a beating for Lucic.

Kyle Okposo would be a nice fit...ship out Kristo and one or two picks, maybe.
