I'd be fine with Zucc coming back, especially since he didnt have a fair share, but we don't really have the assets necessary to do that
What assets? Didn't we qualify him? He still belongs to us.

As for Roszival, I would be perfectly Ok with bringing him back for the third pairing.

Assets necessary? To do what? Re-sign him?

Zuccarello reportedly wants a first round pick if he's going to come back to North America.

Entertaining game 6 right now. Nice to see old friend Enver Lisin.

Salavat forces a game 7 with a 5-4 win.

Zucca with 4 shots, one assist and a penalty for holding in 18:03 TOI.
And then some brawling towards the end of the game

Has Slats consulted with Torts on Zuke? There's speculation Arnott wasn't signed because Slats and Torts weren't on the same page regarding that player. There was more than Arnott not passing his physical. Slats wanted Arnott but Torts didn't. Slats likes Zuccarello but how does Torts feel about him?

Special Teams are more important than ever in this league and there is no doubt that MZA improves the power play. If he gets signed, though, I wouldn't look for Kreider to make his way back this year unless there's an injury.

I would personally sign Zuccarello and play him over Miller but Torts likely disagrees

I see no harm whatsoever in giving the guy a one way the rest of the yr. If not trade him and get something already

Awesome. Let's get him over here as soon as possible, and get Bickel off the forward lines. Then when Asham comes back bench Boyle or send Miller down and let's go.

JT miller has been one of out best puck possession / puck retrieval players . How quickly we forget just two games ago with Staals PP goal JT was hard on the puck in that goal mouth scramble and jarred puck loose that Staal tapped in . Kids been getting exponentially better every game . Wanna help the PP keep Richards of it . IT WORKED FINE WITH HIM SITTING AFTER GETTING BOARDED

World cup is roughly 2 months away, so I could see him signing a one way deal and coming over within this week..

He's fresh, exciting and knows the system..

What's the story here?

Renney and Maloney could obviously pick whatever player they wanted before the first season after the lockout. Renney had coached a ton against Nylander, Straka and Rucinsky in Europe before the lockout. Nylander were the best player in the WCH when a Renney coached Canada beat Sweden in the finals and so forth. All players we got then fitted really well into what Renney was trying to do, then all of a sudden player after player after player just seemed like being the opposite of Renney's style (Cullen and Aaron Ward for example). Its like Slats tried to force feed Renney with players with the opposite abilities of what he wanted in order to correct flaws in our game.

Doesn't Slats talk with his coaches?

We played last season without a 4th line and we entered this season without a 4th line. That's very remarkable. With a good dialogue between a coach and a GM, they should be able to figure out what needs to be done for the team to be able to ice a 4th line when the season starts. Like, jesus christ, its not rocket science what works and what don't.

Getting Arnott really suprised. me. Torts has praised Halpern for a very good reason, he has played well basically every shift he is on the ice. We were slow and big on our depth line, then all of a sudden we announce that we signed a 38 y/o 6'5 forward with bum legs who never was a good skater???

And who puts his neck out in this organization when we get pro players? Please god let it not be Sather because he got the worst eye in the business for what works in the game today.

Torts loves Miller right now. If Zucc were to be replacing Miller I don't see Torts going for it.

This.

Once Torts gets a hard on for a guy in a good way (figure of speech guys) there's no taking that guy out of the line up no matter the levels of suckage...see Boyle, Brian.

If Torts has taken a shine to Miller, he will not be bumped until Miller completely blows chunks for a 2 week stretch.
