Thanks I remember she was excited about getting new engines better then lotus but I wasnt aware she was switching teams. I like her a lot and hope to see success this upcoming season after running around with terrible underpowered and inferior race cars.
We talk about how he got hooked up with Foyt, what it was like in GP3...Difficulties of climbing the Euro ladder...And maybe some other things he's interested in.
And on a positive note, there will be no more on track interviews with the soon to be, former Mrs. Franchitti. What a breath of fresh air that will be.

Thank god. Franchitti may now become halfway tolerable, doubtful, but possible.
So are the cars going to be just as ugly this year? I remember hearing that their would be varying aero options for this year's cars allowing for different "looks"... ?
Indycar needs to do something to revitalize the series. I used to follow CART religiously in the 90s, but I just cant get into it anymore. I live in Toronto, and I don't even bother to watch the race on TV anymore, let alone go to the track for the race. What do they need to do to get guys like me back into the series?!

It seems to me the tide is turned and open wheel is picking up steam while nascar goes down the tubes. ymmv
The split in open wheel really hurt. I became more interested in nascar at the time and less so with Indy car. But I really think open wheel racing in NA is coming back nicely. The racing is very competitive. At the same time, I'm really getting sick of nascar and their boring caution infested races. Phony yellows and even real ones make racing a joke in nascar. nascar is like the nba, just tune in to the last 20 laps for the only racing you will see all day. nascar has gone over the top trying to "create" entertainment instead of letting the racing be the entertainment.
It's got to be more exciting than the 2 nascar races there. At least the track was designed for open wheel cars.
I thought the last two races on the repave were quite entertaining. Logano pushing Martin out of the way for the win, and Gordon avoiding the restart wreck right before the thunderstorm. It was a totally different animal without the bumps.
I do think Indycar will put on a better show however.

Well, they do occasionally have a good race now and then. But trying to create intentional drama is too much. It's like WWE on 4 wheels.

we might have some drama before we even race:
Dragon Racing, which is operated by Jay Penske, has essentially ousted Katherine Legge as the driver of the #6, for Sebastian Saavedra, who will team w/ Sebastian Bourdais, in the #7

Sorry to see that. I'd like to see Katherine get a shot in decent equipment.
So I guess that means Ryan Briscoe won't be going to Dragon.
from what I just read off Indycar, she's considering legal action, saying it was her sponsorship...
Briscoe's w/ Penske (tht had been the #6, and was renumbered to 2
Briscoe left Penske due to their inability to guarantee him a full season ride. That's the 3rd car they offered Tony for the 500 and now they are talking with AJ Allmendinger about the 500 ride and maybe more depending upon sponsorship.
So I'm getting ready to cover indycar Preseason Testing at barber next week. If you have any questions for any drivers, post 'em here and I'll ask for you.

Any updates on Legge or Briscoe status would be good.
Any more word on Allmendinger signing with Penske for Indy and/or beyond?
Any info on the aero kits? Are they even an option this year? I haven't seen or heard much about them.
