Cue Ogrezilla's UNGODLY-LARGE Moose picture.

We're trading for Hedberg.

He had 2 goals in NHL 09 once. Not sure if that counts tho.

Well Kevin Allen just said he would be surprised if Jack Johnson was traded.

Allen also said he thinks it's unlikely Iginla gets moved because neither Iginla or Calgary want to be perceived as the bad guy. He said a person that knows Iginla said he thinks there's only about a 25% chance he gets moved.

Allen also said he didn't feel the Pens needed to make a move and that he would deal Despres in an Iginla deal. Those were the only two somewhat head scratching things he said.

Thank God, I hope he's right about that. I just don't see JJ as a priority. If he was a UFA? Sure, perhaps. But trading significant assets for him? Don't get it, don't see it, and I think it may come back to bite us long-term.

This I am not so sure about. Iginla will never ask for a trade, but CGY are going to get A LOT of great offers that will be difficult to turn down; and if they're way out of the playoff picture, not only will their team see the value in trading this player, but fans need to look no further than EDM to see what rebuilding can offer their franchise. In Toronto, people/fans were literally begging for Sundin to waive his NTC. I don't see Iginla being stubborn like that if the fans or the team are suggesting it.

The only person reporting any of these Jack Johnson rumors is none other than Rob Rossi.

Guess he thinks their defensive game will magically morph into a shutdown one and we are good with the barnicles like Kennedy riding along with the centers

An elite winger can improve our team, no doubt, but I fear no player can improve our defensive game. I don't even understand what they're trying to do out there...

In fairness he was the one who made them up.

quoting Rossi should result in an infraction. linking to a Rossi 'article' should result in a permanent ban.

posting this twice because it's kind of relevant, but Bylsma come out and flat out said that Beau Bennett was playing full time on Geno's wing.
Quote:
Bylsma, on playing Beau Bennett with Malkin and Neal: "That’s the line he is going to play with. And yes, all three periods.”
via @MolinariPG

So I guess Bennett has almost exactly a month to make an impression.

As much as I'd like to get JJ; not for Despres. He has far too much potential and you can't coach someone to 6'4". Also, if I'm Shero I'd never want my legacy that I was the GM who traded Jordan Staal, Simon Despres, and possibly Kris Letang. Now granted it would be for various reasons; but a trade is a trade.

I'm not really sure I'd want JJ if it meant trading assets.

Especially not Despres... who, honestly, might end up a better defenseman. Which isn't exactly the highest of praise considering the fact that JJ isn't that great. Really.

Don't see it.

I'd take JJ over Orpik at this point. At least he can contribute offensively and be a legit PP pointman for us. Ideally you find a steady partner for Letang, but I'm not seeing too many of those available.

Well... yeah... I would absolutely take him over Orpik.

I would take the Ghost of Ian Moran's Past over Orpik.
