Blum has been playing well this year could definitely be a solid 2nd pairing if given enough minutes somewhere. Maybe a very very low tiered 1st pairing on a bad team of he reaches his absolute potential. I'd say it's a good bet he'll be a decent 2nd pairing guy that nobody talks about, but does his job well and doesn't complain.

He's good at moving the puck up ice and has pretty good offensive skills. With the embarrassing amount of good defensemen we can afford to move him for a similar forward.

When Blum is playing well it's because he is using his superior hockey sense. When he is playing smart an confidently he is a joy to watch and a legit 2nd pairing. The downside is sometimes you can see his confidence wane and he starts to second guess himself and he doesn't have the physical tools to make up for it.

Thanks for both of ya. He would fit with Wings imo but I don't think we will be trading until/if Detroit is at East.

Would love Erat on the 'Yotes - $3.75mil next season and $2.25 the following year.

I do think it's a little early to be talking of a firesale.

While we are just a win streak away from the playoffs, or even fourth place, if you watch us nightly you'll see why we want to gut this team. Expansion era bad, but now we don't have Scott Walker or Cliff Ronning to lift our spirits. I believe we've only had 4 regulation wins, despite our 23 points.

I think Pittsburgh should have interest in Gill and Boston should have interest in Fisher.

I have no idea if they actually would or what they would offer, but I think it would make a lot of sense. Pittsburgh needs that stay at home solid D and Boston needs a forward for their 3rd line that is more than a 3rd liner.

I think you're undervaluing Read. He was building on a strong rookie season (24 G, 23 A) with 13 points in 18 games before getting injured this season, and is a strong 2-way forward. What would you consider to be an equivalent prospect?

Wow I always overlook Read, I guess that's what I get for not watching the east.
