Just thinking and this is for anyone who watches the A devs somewhat consistently. Can urbom realistically be ready to step into the top 6 on the big.club.next year?
I think it's between him and Gelinas. I'd prefer Gelinas if Zidlicky and Tallinder are gone.

Absolutely. Don't forget he technically made the team twice, in 10-11 and then again in 11-12. He and Gelinas should honestly both be on the team next year, but we'll see what happens with all our extra defensemen.
Also Mike Sislo had 7 shots tonight. From the reports, it sounds like he's been playing better lately. And I have no idea where Phil DeSimone came from (and he turns 26 in two weeks) but he's been great.

There's really only room for just one of them next year. That's if Zidlicky walks, and Tallinder is traded away. Though we can have both if one is the 7th defensemen. I want Harrold back, but I wouldn't be surprised if he walks due to not enough playing time. Because he's an 8th defensemen rather than a 7th, he's gotten just one game in 21 games this season. Almost all teams do not have an 8th defensemen.
In fact I think the game he played was as a forward too wasn't it? He's the perfect 7th defensemen.

Yeah I agree, I just think they'd both be ready next year. I doubt Deboer would want to introduce two rookies in the same camp anyway.

I loved DeSimone when I watched him early in the season. I was so disappointed when he was rotated out after some solid games because of excess of depth.
Maybe I'm looking too hard into this, but with the way the NHL Devils are playing right now I'm really nervous.
Does Wedgewood being called up mean that possibly Marty is in rough shape, and Kinkaid will be staying up for longer? Or are both Clermont, and Wedgewood just getting a look, as was already said? Albany doesn't have another game until Friday at Bridgeport.

I see what you mean, management may want to give both of them a look in Albany in case someone needs to get called up to New Jersey, but I don't think it's anything to be worried about. Kinkaid being up with the team has opened up a spot in Albany for the first time in awhile, so might as well use it.

Wedge got called up because his ECHL team isn't going to make the playoffs. They want him to get a start or a few in must win AHL games.
Albany wins 4-1 Wedgewood gets his first AHL win in his first start.
Highlights
Joe Whitney scored his 19th and 20th goals of the season
Scott Wedgewood made 23 saves in his AHL debut
Eric Gelinas had a goal and an assist and was a +3

Why doesn't Whitney at least deserve a cup of coffee with the big team? Would he hinder their dynamic, world-beating offense?
