Not to sure what to make of this as I didn't watch NHL when he last played for the Penguins. If he can help us get rid of Tyler Kennedy I'm all for it.

No he is not going to replace Kennedy. I don't know why that is being mentioned (other than for the laughs). He will be a call up for the 4th line.

Epic Greekness. The international diversity of his family heritage will undoubtedly put us over the top.

(What the other guys said -- injury call up. He'll go straight back to the AHL most likely. Just has to clear waivers first. Bennett's already been recalled.)

Neither did anyone else not named "Mario Lemieux" during the X-Generation era Pens.

Nothing more than an experienced depth signing. Tom does have an excellent work ethic though and I personally prefer him to someone like Glass, who really hasn't impressed me even as a 4th liner this season.

What was old is new again...

First Eaton, now Kosopolous... Now we just need a Jan Hrdina or Ed Patterson sighting and we're good to go.

He will be an upgrade on the 4th line over Adams or Glass. I mentioned him in my post *****ing about the 3rd and 4th line. Hope they bring him up.

4th line depth. I'm still not sure why he didn't get a deal in the off-season, he's played 76+ games a season every year since the 04-05 lockout except an injury-shortened 67 game season in 07-08.

Mind you he's always been one of those 4th liners on a bad team kinda guys...615 regular season games and only 16 playoff games - 12 of which came in one season.

I see this as pure insurance...we've got a lot of piss & vinegar potential 4th liners in WBS right now, but none of them are NHL ready yet. A couple injuries and we'd be forced to have guys like Philippe Dupuis on the 4th line.

What do you think about that, Ruth? Pretty good, huh?

I've always had a feeling Kostop would end up back with the Pens at some point. Bylslma loves guys like him.

I remember when he blew up Radek Bonk on his first shift and scored in his second.. and holds all of Wilkes Barre's scoring records.

Yeah, I guess his minor league accomplishments were pretty memorable if you follow that team.

You really could do worse for depth than "Nonstopoulos." Obviously I'd never want to see him sniff significant minutes, if it can be helped. But I can't imagine that being the case, here. Unless **** gets really grim.

He was a good player, actually. One of the few on that team.

He was one single career game short of being a Restricted Free Agent, and Craig subsequently flubbed re-signing him. TK went on to have a fruitful career as a checker like everyone knew he would, while I guess we went and signed Ryan VandenBussche.

I wasn't really knocking him or saying he was a bad player but he was a low scoring grinder on a team that had really fallen on tough times and he only played 79 games for our NHL club. I can see where he would be forgettable to some younger fans that were pre-teen or so back then. I was mid-late teens back then and remember him fairly well. I remember the grit and hard working style. I'm sure I've also forgotten many things about him just because of the era he was here. I could tolerate all the losing to a point and the players tried hard but the losing was still tough and the product was really bad, so sometimes I had to tune it out and hope for better times ahead which we have obviously gotten.
