Canada may not play Sweden in this year's tourney (different pools), so this could be the only chance to get to see Steen.

Looks like they're in a local arena.

the game has started I assume? The on-line coverage/update at swehockey.se doesn't work right now

edit: never mind, it's working now.

For those of you that can't watch the game you can follow it on-line at this url

So far Swedish goalie Lundstrom has been the story and looks real solid keeping the game scoreless in the first 13:00 minutes.. he has made lots of great saves... I think last years team struggled in goal this year looks like a big improvement..

The swedes are playing a much more aggressive and intense style of hockey compared to previous years and I think they caught canada off guard a bit. Theyve been looking for hits and I dont ever remember sweden playing dump and chase. Im pretty sure they have a new coach (not certain) and that could attributed to their change of style.

0-0 after 1

yes, they've got a new coach.
What players have been standing out for Sweden (well, besides Lundström) and for Canada?
thanks

Thoughts on Crosby?

From what I can see, he's a strong kid (open ice hit and still wasn't knocked off the puck) and is very defensive minded. Most of what I've seen of him has been in the defensive zone, which good.

Going forward I haven't seen to much. Still early.

Kind of interesting to have Barry Trapp providing commentary between periods.

I'd say there haven't been any standouts for Canada... just the whole defense as a group's been real strong.

Kevin Klein with a nice hit on Johan Andersson.

The Swedes have also changes their Power Play style... Always known for their playmaking skills ..on the 2 powerplays they have been shooting from the point and going for rebounds..

The 3 SEL Swedes Nilsson, Endstrom and Steen have been the best skaters as the announcer was also commenting on.. Nilsson made a end to end rush going around several Canadians ..surprising me a little as his weakness was to be his skating but it didn't show there..

Swedes Danilesson and Eriksson have also been buzzing around..

But so far Swedish goalie is the story 20 saves, and the Swedes have held up well against the Canadian Pressure and physical style..

Shots have been 20-9..

I think Anthony Stewart has been the best Team Canada player.. He set up Belle on the goal.. Missed a wide open net on the PP from a bad angle though and hit the crossbar in the 2nd..

Crosby has also been good as he split the Swedish Defense and made the Goalie make a great save off his glove..

Crosby was just bloody assaulted in the corner. How wasn't that a call?
