When those guys are your top centers, you most certainly should be in the market for a good center. They're not bad players but they're not going to make players around them better.

Bordy might have to apologize to him though. He's day to day right now with an upper body injury (not head related) after that hit the last game.

So I asked this on the Trade Forum, but unfortunately haven't received any replies (yet).

Apparently there was some sort of TSN Trade Speculation special tonight? There's a thread about it on the Trade Forum.

Anyways, living in Kansas, I don't get TSN, so if ANYONE watched it, could they provide an overview for us in the States that didn't get to see it?

And not just an overview of any potential Avs speculation, but speculation in general

They have it up on their site. I'm in the states and it's playing ok for me.

It's the countdown to TC clips.

The TSN show only focused on Canadian teams, so not much of interest for fans of other teams.

Did they really spend the entire time only talking about the Canadian teams though? I mean I know TSN is a Canadian channel, but there are 30 teams in the NHL.

I don't know, maybe there was more live, but that's all they put up on the site.

It's probably all just a bunch of filler and fluff though anyway, just like their deadline day coverage.

The site preview even said it would be focused primarily on the 7 Canadian teams.

It would not surprise me if they focused nearly exclusively on the Canadian teams. I often try to watch their Icechips segment (or whatever it is called) when the Avs are playing the Oil/Flames/Nucks, and even then 98% of the coverage is of the Canadian team.

ETA: Just looked it up. Dreger said that "because he is on pace for his 6th 20 goal season (over 82 games) he could interest some, but at $6.6 mill that's a big ticket."

That would be an awesome player to get back, but didn't we just injury him?

He's day to day with an upper body. They said they didn't think it was serious, or something that would keep him out long.

Can we stop trying to trade players and start addressing the real problem? Sacco.

Until we get rid of him I don't want a single player moved.

Tyutin is the reason Nikitin looks well on the ice, the two of them compliment each other very well.

Some would say we injured him...

...others would call it prepping him to be an Av.

Well if we stay on this path despite getting O'Reilly, Wilson and EJ back. He might be gone sooner rather than later.

I personally don't think it's talent either... I'm starting to see us underachieve like the Blues were but maybe a season or two behind them in development.

I don't like how Landeskog has seemed to settle into the rest of the teams meh mentality. He just hasn't been full of energy every night. Hes more like the team IMO in that we show up for one game and disappear for 2-3.

It's really pathetic that /Jiggy have let in only 4 goals in the last two games and we couldn't even win one of them.

Agree and disagree. I don't think any main pieces should get moved unless a solid overpayment is offered (that includes Jones and McLeod)

Need to trade away
ROB
Zanon
Hunwick/O'Brien (i prefer to keep SOB)
Kobasew if Avs do not intend to bring him back next year.

Not much for a return for any of them I'm sure, but an asset is an asset if these players are not in next year's plans, no need to let them go for nothing.

This team only needs a Coach, top 6 LW, and a #1/2 LHD to start next year IMO especially if they roll 3 lines Dutch, Staz, ROR.
We should be able to get a LW in the draft, just not sure where the LHD will come from.

The Core to win is there,
??????-Dutch-PAP
Lando-ROR-Downie
McGinn-Staz-Jones
McLeod-Mitchell- Olver/Bords

EJ-????
Barrie-Hejda
Elliot-Wilson (could pair with EJ if no LHD upgrade is found)
SOB

Varly
Giggy

No point yet in moving good players until there are Cap issues, or the Avs decide not to run 3 top lines.

Would like to trade Stastny for a defensive piece, then roll Duchene, RoR, Sgarbossa, Mitchell down the center next year.

I personally don't see Elliott there next year, I'd rather he spend next season gaining confidence in the minors next to Siemens as our top pair down there.

We should bring in two top 4 defenders through free-agency.

IMO if Barrie keeps up his play we only need one to be next to EJ. It would be preferred if that was a top pairing guy. Sadly there are no realistic top pairing options in UFA next year.

I thought that too about Elliott, but figured if we could dump the vets, he could get the experience on the 3rd pair the rest of this year, and with a whole camp could show enough to stay and play well. If Elliott is going to be in LEM, I'd bet Hunwick sticks around along with SOB.

I like the idea of going after both Streit and Smid personally. That way both could be tried next to EJ and the other could play on our second pair.

Streit would do wonders for guys like Barrie and Elliott as well, as for having a veteran puck mover.

Streit/Smid - EJ

Streit/Smid - Wilson/Barrie

Hejda - Barrie/Wilson

Then keep one of SOB/Hunwick as our 7th

ROB, SOB, & Zannon gone clears 6M off the books lol... Uhg

I agree with Smid and I think he will be a realistic option if he doesn't stay. Now I don't really think there is a way that we have a chance at Streit, either he goes to a contender (which he will have plenty of suitors for a 2-3 year run) or he sticks with the NYI.

Probably a good point, but PA's success and being here could help us a bit there. Streit would also know he will be higher on our depth chart and probably get more money from us rather than a cup contender up against the cap.

If we offer 4 year 4.5M I think we'd be in the running for him. I also think hes worth it because he does not have an much NHL mileage as other guys his age.

Who knows though...
