He's had a carousel of LW's and Richie on his line, those guys just don't take many quality shots.

I'm hoping for a 30 goal, 2 assist season.

Now is probably when I should point out his 23% shooting.

There's no way that lasts for the season, though. That's got to be close to double his usual...he's on pace for a 57 goal 82 game season. Edit: with 8 assists. Ha.

Good call, actually just a tick more than double, 11.3% for his career.

To be fair, Carter's first goal last night was an attempted pass.

I am starting to think hockey refs do a better job than I give them credit for. I have been watching more soccer lately, and the refs are way worse than in any sport I have ever watched. Man U got screwed.

While riding home, listening to the local sports talk, the Caps' pregame sure made it seem as if they are somehow well-positioned for the playoffs. Despite their mediocre play.

I have to admit: Despite being a long time NHL fan, I never totally understand playoff seeding until they are about to kick off.

But, man, does the Southeast suck this badly? That's my interpretation (Well, that, and I assume over optimism from the show's homer host).

I've been wrong a time or 10 before but I'd be shocked if some team doesn't put in waiver claim on WSH dman Roman Hamrlik. Good insurance.

I'll take what the Hawks have been having this whole season please. How does a team get the bounces for that long and that many games?

With Grossmann going down in tonight's game, I wouldn't be surprised to see Homer putting in a claim on the Hammer.

4-1 Hawks over the Wild after the 1st. Outshooting them 17-6 too. That team is too good.

The contract may be an issue but anything is possible.

The Flyers were desperate for help on defense anyways. I'm sure there are conversations about Hamrlik. We still have Pronger's LTIR allowance available.

I remember when he played for Moses's Commandmenters back in the days of the sand EHL (now defunct).

^ Hamrlik to NYR.

Still no specific update on Staal, but Hamrlik's claim obviously tells you something

Claiming Hamrlik to replace Staal is like using a bagel to replace a flat tire.

It's no wonder the EHL had to fold. Their manna cap was way too restrictive and the road schedule was brutal. I still remember, though, that epic win by the Commandmenters over Jericho in quadruple OT. What a goal horn!

Counting at least 4 hidden Bible references here. Good stuff.

1. Manna
2. Exodus
3. 7 day Siege of Jericho
4. Ark of the Covenant/Ram Horn

What did I miss?

40 years worth of away games is rough.

A great goal made even better by the fact that Hodgson back-checked the puck away to start the rush.
