If you would understand hockey a little bit, you would understand that even if he didnt have his greatest game, but the defence was god awful. I swear an AHL squad wouldve done better

Yes, yes, 12 goals against that are completely on the defense.

He can do no wrong.

Price needs to look in the mirror tonight and think long and hard about playing better, he's there to bail out the defense once in a while.

He hasn't been very good lately. Hopefully it's just a slump.

Price is the problem of this team. Plain and simple.

Thats all he did the whole freaking start of the season?

Fish memory much dont you?

Im not defending him. But half those goals were turnovers or goals wih a man wide open

What he did at the start of the season doesn't matter to how he's playing right now. Like I said, the defense hasn't helped him as much as they should, but the reason we think so highly of him is because of his ability to clean up the mess more often than not. I get that all goalies go through human stretches, and Price is going through one now. It's just tough to see.

I dont know why i so easily turn on Carey Price, must be that he looks lazy when he struggles. There does not seem to be any effort to get out of his funks. I was angry when the Habs traded Halak cause i tough Price was lazy at the time. He prooved me wrong the last couple of years. Now i have the same feeling of lazyness on his part. I could really see him sitting on his big fat contract. Being elite does not really seem to be his priority.

Ok, I don't mind Price not stealing games for us, but for the past 2 weeks he has been really bad. Our season will get ugly quick if he doesn't get back on track.

Honestly the islanders had maybe 8 good scoring chances and they scored on 5 of them.

Price makes our defence look bad because each time they make a mistake the puck is in the net.

Then that's not even the problem. Our goalie is suppose to be elite and really in his whole career I think he had more bad stretches than good stretches. Plus, a lot of people and "expert" defend him no matter what. So it adds oil the my fire against Price.

Seriously can someone seriously say that he had more good times than bad in his career because to me he looks more like the Andrei Kostitsyn of goaltender.

Price's body language when he lets in a goal reminds me of this right now.

Just looks like he's ready to give up.

The defense definitely left him out to dry a few times tonight but usually he makes some saves. It was another rough night.

Maybe you're right that an AHL squad would have done better (I think St-Denis is a better option than 50% of our d-men right now), but 12 goals in two starts with a SV% around .820 is not NHL quality. His season SV% is among the worst of NHL starters right now.

Price's style has lots of holes in it. Most of all these goals are one shot snipes, barely any second attempts (rebound goals). Price has to make the first save, especially when the snipes are outside the hashmarks, you can only blame the defence on the second attempts. Our defence has been great this season.

Shocking considering two days ago it was among the best and he was probably the Vezina front runner.

No, his save percentage was not even in the top 10 before the game against Pittsburgh.

It's apparent that Price fans will defend this guy until no end. Each time Price fails, they point the finger at everyone else.

He seems way too emotional at times. That can either be a positive or negative. If things are going well, his body language screams "you'll never beat me." When things are going poorly, he gives off a "I don't think I'll stop another puck ever again" vibe.

One of Price's biggest faults (at least in my opinion) is that he'll ALWAYS give up "the next goal" in a close game. He needs to work on that in a big way. His mental game is his biggest weakness.

No one else on this team gets a pass, ever, neither should Carey, and he'll probably be the first to tell you that. No excuses.

Can't argue there.

He really needs to find that middle ground.

Definitely wasn't the Vezina front runner but he was close to a nomination, at least.

He's sitting at 40th in the league right now. 21st if you just count goalies with 10+ games.
