The producer at the main boards was quizzed about this, minutes after the press conference.

That was the only available stick that day. The rest were on vacation.

He's also a right winger.

Ottawa tried him on the left side, but he wasn't very productive and asked to be moved back to the right.

That is hilarious! I'll bet there were no more sticks available because the back-up goalie / equipment manager signed elsewhere in the off-season and Lalime wasn't up to speed. Opps, that just happens on the Isle. Nevermind.

It's not a mistake.

He's simply going to have the best backhand in the league next year.

To quote the cbh.com webmaster, they only had a right-handed stick of that brand available that day, and it was decided that getting the brand that Martin endorses was more important than getting a stick that was left-handed.

Does anyone really care about it that much?

Ha, and if you go to their site you can see the webmaster blurred out the blade of Havlat's stick.

It's definitely good for a chuckle at first, but as mintsauce said, I don't think it's that big a deal.

This isn't so much an example of ineptness from the organization as its just silly.

If Upper Deck can get that shot it will be bought for more $$ than his RC!

Wow, our organization is going right down the tubes, how could you not have a left handed stick on hand as Warrior is one of the most popular sticks...

I can't believe people actually judge this
