Take one step forward then take two back seems to be the theme for this season.

Bryz, who stopped 56 of 58 shots in the last two games, is not an auto-loss. That said, I think it's been pretty obvious for awhile that he would benefit from a game off here and there. I say to see how he looks against Pitt and then decide if he's off against Boston or Buffalo this weekend.

If we really need to go 16-8 to make the playoffs, which likely won't happen, then yes we should start looking at the draft. We could end up at the very bottom of the standings and Seth Jones might end up falling to 3rd pick. It could be a good occasion to rebuild our D. I don't know who to trade that could have value. Briere? Not sure it'll work. We could make Leighton our starter, though. I hate the idea of tanking, but now we're pretty much done.

I think a healty team could go 16-8. This is a very young team and a young team can get streaky. I'm not feeling a tank year. Backs against the wall time to come out fighting. IMO should fire lavy hire ruff we will make the playoffs

16-8 is not an achievable goal for a team that has yet to string three wins together.

16-8 is really hard to get... there's like 3 or 4 teams in the league that have this record now.

I don't understand when people say they hope homer doesn't make a panic trade and keeps the team in tact...

What exactly are we hoping to hold onto?

This team is quite obviously no good enough. Why stay the course when the course is taking us in circles?

We need a trade.

I'd like to have as many picks as possible this year.

I think everyone is afraid he will trade one of the young players. Briere should be one to go I feel. Especially when Read gets back. St Louis and Nashville would be good trading partners.

Also like Beef said, we need those picks.

If we tank, we have to trade vets for picks, basically.

As would I, but for a team that's not going anywhere this season, I don't think a 1st round pick would be traded at this point, surely they understand the grim chance at the playoffs...

Shelley and Pronger would be on LTIR before the trades, mainly because no one would take them, since neither will play any time for the rest of this season, at least.

I really really hope Homer realizes this and doesn't do anything ridiculous for nothing.

If we get a 7th for Shelley, it's a steal.

I'm all in favor of obtaining as many draft picks as possible for this draft. When we have picks we usually draft well under Homer.

Highly doubt any of that would happen...

Phoenix isn't giving up Runblad and a 2nd for Briere. You'd be lucky to get Runblad straight up for Briere.

Dreger and McKenzie get the feeling management may just chalk this season up as a loss. At least that's what the said last Friday.
