Shero won't trade his first round pick. He's gotta draft another D-man.

neither team would do that, especially Calgary.

Your not getting Iggy if neither of Morrow or Bennet isn't added. Iggy was off to his usual slow start but has scored 5 goals in last 4 games. He's on pace for 72pts in a 82 game season

Then they don't get him.

There is zero chance Shero will move his best overall prospect and his best wing prospect for a rental. If that is what Feaster wants, Shero will pass.

Not sure how many times it has to be said in these threads.

If you don't believe that, you will find out soon enough.

good. an impending UFA winger at a $7M cap hit isn't worth two top prospects from the Pens. it's pretty much Maatta, Kennedy, and a 1st or bust.

What do I think his potential is? 40 point top Top-4 defender. Do I think he will reach it? Not really.

Id think about this actually....I mean, I feel like we could get one more good piece if both of those players are moved. The pieces that are included are great though.

Despite what some posters have said, I don't think it's a bad deal. Essentially it's:

Iggy for Morrow + 1st 2013

Gio for Bennett + Niskanen.

I would probably do it. I think it's a solid offer. If Pitts needs to dump a contract/salary thats fine too.

I think its greedy to demand for both your best prospects but seriously I do not think the deal is possible without Bennet not coming back.

I would do: Iggy for Bennett, A first next year, and any cap dump you guys want to throw at us/

and the Pens should hang up the phone immediately. Bennett is LITERALLY their only forward prospect that projects to be a top-6 contributor (arguments claiming playing with Crosby and Malkin boosts anyone's stats notwithstanding), not even considering the fact that the Pens are also including their 1st round pick. not worth it at all.

i think his ceiling is top-2 offensive defenseman and PP QB. he is really the only guy like that that the Pens have in their system. he's not necessarily the scraps you think he is.

4 first rounders for a declining 36 year old UFA. Maybe when was signed and 28. Please get real with the offers. Pittsburgh didn't pay anything close to that for Hossa and his value was higher.

Yeah, Iginla's definitely the only player of value going to Pittsburgh.

That's an awful lot for Pittsburgh to be giving up. Morrow and Bennett are probably the two most valuable (to the organization at least) prospects in the pipeline. I would be much more in favor of what's been discussed before of Maatta+Kennedy+1st for Iginla.

However, if adding Kennedy+2nd to the deal brought back Glencross, I would probably do it.

No, that's called real time value.

From what I've read on the board the Flames fans have Jerome valued more than Bobby Orr in his prime.

Kindly point out where I called him scraps? Just because I don't think he's a sure thing....jeez sensitive much.

of course he's not a sure thing. no prospect is really a sure thing until they prove their value in the NHL.

and you said you didn't think he'd reach his ceiling (which you pointed out was 40-point top-4 player). i disagree on both fronts. you're basically saying he's, at best, a #5/#6 defenseman that can score 40 points (which is not very common anyway for a bottom-pair d-man, but still)

i meant "at best" in the case that he doesn't meet the ceiling you think he has. i should have been clearer about that.

Top 4 means a #2,,#3,#4 D-man. So like I said, I never said he was scraps. So just drop it already.

This is one of the most ridiculous ideas I'eve ever seen on this board. Pittsburgh laughs and says no.

I agree. Some of the Flames fans just have Jeromes's value up in the clouds.

The Pens will never give up that much. 4 firsts for a declining old guy they could never sign due to the cap going down.

Cut your offer by 2/3's and maybe the Pens might listen, just maybe.
