I think your comparison is way off. I don't see it at all. His style reminds me more of Gudbranson then Kubina.

Also, it's Zadorov.

Zadarov and Kubina have very little in common IMHO...

Is it just because of his dad or do you have other reservations?

I think it would be a giant middle finger to Leaf fans if we got this kid and he turned up his game against them.

Max Domi is good, but I'm not sure if I'd take him over some of the players that are around him in the rankings.

Anyone with any info on some draft potentials who are playing extremely well at the moment?

Had a dream last night MacKinnon and Drouin went 1-2 to Columbus and Florida respectively, though I don't see that happening. Sens were picking 21st, can't remember who we took.

What area do you live in? I suggest seeing a doctor.

Alexander Wennberg is doing exceptionally well for Djurgården, Peter Cehlarik will rise very much in some rankings.

I was thinking about the league and what kind of player I really covet. Landeskog was a guy that I really wished we could have grabbed 2 years ago (obviously we played our way out of that position, but Zibanejad might be able to become similar).

I asked for a comparable in the prospects board and apparently Ryan Hartman (ranked near the end of the 1st round) compares favourably with Lando (I've also been reading Callahan comparisons). He plays on the Whalers with Noesen so has anyone else here seen him? From the sounds of things he'd be a great mid to late first pick-up and sounds exactly what we need up on the big team. Tough, pesky, great defensively and creates a lot of space. Would love to know more about him.

I think he compares much more favorably to Max Lapierre than Noeson, whom he was compared to at the draft. He is a late birthday, so is one year younger than Noesen, and is small in stature at 5-11, 185. He was a surprise performer for the States in the WJC, as he played the chippy game he was expected and scored 3 points.

I am sure if he is available our scouts will have seen more than enough of him to know if he fits our teams criteria going forward, but if we have a pick from 25-35 I would use it on him for sure.

Supposedly he is 'due' for a growth spurt:

Quote:
1. You are unique in that you're a power-forward type while being listed at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds. Whom in the NHL do you watch closely because he is the type of player you'll need to be to reach that level?

"I like to look at David Backes [of the St. Louis Blues]. He's a captain. He's a leader. He might be a few inches taller than me. I'm not too worried about height. I don't have a guy under 6-foot on my dad's side. My uncle is 6-5, another uncle is 6-6, my dad is 6-2. My dad didn't grow until college — late bloomers in our family."
I'm just reading a lot on him now since it has piqued my interest and knowing that he's a teammate of Noesen makes me want to pay more attention when watching those games. I'll definitely be tuning in more to Plymouth for the rest of the season + playoffs. It helps that most people agree he's closer to a Callahan than a Lapierre/Downie.

Plus...he's listed at 5'11 and 190...Landeskog depending on where you look isn't listed as much bigger. A guy like Mike Richards is a similar size, too.

I love Hartman. Noticed him first at the U18's last year, where he really stood out (I scrambled for his vitals, only to find out he wasn't draft eligible that year), and was again really impressed with him at the WJC. Also caught one of his games in the OHL this year. He has scored some really nice goals, hits everything and is a tough hombre.

The only reason he is seen as a late 1st, is some question his offensive upside, but Plymouth spreads the offence around. It's also interesting to note that despite being two years younger than Noesen, he is outscoring him this year on a per game basis(although that is in part Hartman playing with Trochek at times). He has also been quite a bit more physical than Noesen from what I've seen and heard, and is also a lot more likely to drop the mitts.

I think a Lando-type is his upside - basically a 25-30 goal scoring winger in a top 6. But the best comparison I've heard (and reiterated by Whalers fans) is Callahan. Again, very physical winger with some leadership who sets the tone, who can play in your top 6.

I think he might end up any where from 12 - 20, because after 11 or so, it becomes wide open and I think a few OHL scouts are probably already in love with the guy.

The more I hear about him the more I want him on the team. I'll have to go watch some games for myself, but I feel like he's the type of player this team is missing right now.

So all 7 rounds will take place on the same day this year.

That's awesome.

Like other have said, the question around Hartman is does he have top 6 potential, and if at his current size can he play the game the way he does in the NHL at the junior level.

Plymouth is simply churning out great prospects.

Is he a fast paced high offense kinda guy?
