My opinion of Sheahan/Ferraro is probably a little high. Neither guy will ever be Helm, but either one will become an adequate 3rd line center in the next 2-3 years.

Kreider. Which is why he'll remain a Ranger until his contract is up. Then either take a paycut (around 5 mil) or be let go

Caps need a scoring winger to replace Semin, but I have a hard time seeing these two teams making a deal. Shades of Bobby Carpenter for Ridley and Miller.

I'd hate to give up Helm, but I think it's close to fair value.
I could see the 2nd one working.

You'd think Gaborik was 28 on a reasonable deal with more than 2 years left on it considering some of these offers.

Nashville offer is probably the best so far based on needs, and player style.

I've always liked Fischer.

Fourty goals twice in the past 3 years, and he scores big GWGs in OT like nobodies business.

He has played through some injuries, and struggled at times to be consistent, but the guy is an offensive threat, with great speed and an above average shot when he uses it.

The value is there even with the large salary for teams who need what he brings.

Carlson for Gabby straight-up.

I don't disagree, but the alternative has been pairing Richards, and now Miller, with Gaborik but neither has worked. I suppose the answer is to get Richards going again to get Gaborik going again.

Nyquist is actually taller. Tatar weighs slightly more. I'm just using Ocham's Razor here. Why trade someone off your team and then replace him, when you can trade someone similar and keep the guy playing on your team already?

If you promise you won't play him on Sid's wing we can discuss about that .

Take Bickel, make the 2nd a first and replace Maata with Morrow and you have a deal

A lot more than the Rangers want to give. Buff is not available unless it's overpayment.

And any talk of Bogosian going to the Rangers is a pipe dream. He is a cornerstone and TNSE loves him and he loves being in Winnipeg.

I was thinking it would be nice for the Caps to acquire Gaborik. I'm not sure what the return would have to be, but re-signing Ribeiro to a 3 year deal and having Gaborik would really help to fill out our top 6 next year. Backstrom would have a speed outlet that can shoot and finish, Ribeiro could stay with OV. Laich could slot in and with the possible arrival of Forsberg that would let some of the guys who are forced to play above their positions to return to what they do best.

Big Buff is a key player in Winnipeg but I think he could be traded for smaller parts (pun intended) that improve the club.

Still, those parts would have to be impact players ala McDonagh or Stepan or Callahan +

The concept of a Perry for Gaborik trade really excites me. It makes too much sense.

Still don't see Gaborik being dealt until the off-season.

The going for Gabby if the Rangers were to move him would in all likelihood be the 'standard' for a bonafide first liner who isn't a superstar/franchise player:

- Quality, fairly young (early-mid 20's) 2nd/3rd line tweener with top 6 upside/Equivalent 2nd pair D

- Top Prospect

- Mid-Late 1st

Hornqvist, Blum and a first for gaborik?
Any chance he would renegotiate new deal before being dealt though or is he almost for sure testing free agency??

No to deal.

He's signed for 1 more year. Can't renegotiate yet.
