They are good, but the GOAT fast food fries are Portillo's.

Asians are ahead of the game when it comes to food. That looks great.

Portillo's is good stuff.

The dad grew up a five-minute bike ride from the original stand. He went there all the time and is always game for Portillo's whenever we eat together.

You'll never hear me doubting that.

Portillo's and a deep dish are the first things my brother and I get every time we're back in town.

Korean food is becoming one of my favorites. Not only was it incredible, but it was also incredibly healthy and dirt cheap. A miso broth, seafood, and veggies. That's about it. Simple, healthy, cheap, and damn good.

I've got Harold's in my area. I would never travel just for chicken.

Rosie's is a solid gyro place, but I always prefer Jacky's at 54th and Pulaski. Tony's is another solid joint on Pulaski.

Checkers, man I miss it. They do have Ralleys but it isn't the same. What were those apple things, fried apple nuggets? Those were awesome too. Right now, for fries, I really like the five guys fries, not a big fan of the burgers but I will stop in and grab a huge bag of those cajun fries.

There is one that I know of out here. Actually went this weekend because we were house sitting for the woman's aunt, and it's a mile from her place. Did not live up to the hype that we had built up of what we remembered Checkers being. Then again, all fastfood places have dropped in quality, especially Wendy's. Wendy's use to have the best spicy chicken sandwich ever, now it sucks. Same with their fries. They use to rule, now they're garbage.

Use to go to the Checkers in Calumet City religiously.

Asian restaurants are fantastic dinner places, especially when you have a lot of people.

A Korean BBQ, Chinese hot pot, or big sushi place and you're all bound to have a good time.

I love going to benihanas now and then and getting fried rice with steak, shrimp, chicken, pork, etc. added.

Never been to either. Pass Jacky's every day on my way to work. Will have to give them a try one of these nights.

Yeah, we've really been getting into Korean. It's probably my favorite Asian cuisine. I love sushi, but hate hibachi. Hibachi is just so ****ing cheesy if you ask me.... And of course that means that is one of the in laws favorite things to do, so we go way too often. It blows.

They're still operating down south. You can't eat inside them, and they originated in the south as trucker spots. It's just a bit cold for most here in Chicago five months a year. I know there's one open in Englewood, but LOLZ no.

For gyro's, it's always been Nicky's on 141st and Cicero for me. Also have good burgers, beef sandwich, generous portions all the way around. You could STUFF 2 people with a gyro plate, and you could feed a family of 3 or 4 too if you wanted to.

Checker's looks like a Steak 'n Shake clone.

Steak 'n Shake is the biggest ripoff ever. Paper-thin patties, man.

A gyro plate from Rosie's is enough to feed me and my 6'5" 280 lb brother. It's at least a pound and a half of meat with a pound of fries and six pita's.

Are they? The one we went to is the only one I've seen or heard mentioned in our general area. Can't eat in this one either, just the double drive-thru.

They need to demolish that place. I went from being hungry (even though I just ate) to wanting to throw up my insides after reading your post.

Unlimited shrimp at Red Lobster. Oh, man, I love seafood.

I once knocked out 150 shrimp scampi for $15.
