Why would Andy Greene be traded? He's an offensive defenseman. We need a player like him and the return of Brenden Morrow doesn't do it for me. It's just not enough. A Tallinder (maybe a career AHLer or late pick added on if we must add) for Morrow swap though would be even. One veteran for another.
EDIT: Then I guess that Sports Talk Florida report from February that said we are in the hunt for Iggy holds weight then I suppose?

Do not want Morrow at all. Used to be a fan favorite and valued player in Dallas, but he's since plummeted in their ranks. It seems that he seriously regressed.

I know must of you won't be behind this idea but wouldn't it be a solid move to pick up the phone and inquire about Jonathan Bernier?
I'd be willing to flip a prospect and a d-men not named Greene/Larsson/Fayne for his services. We can't expect Moose to be Marty in terms of playing every single game while giving us stellar performances night after night and our backup is a prospect with zero NHL experience.
Bernier isn't all that proven either but he has way more potential then any of our "prospects" and it's not like our starting duo is getting any younger. If Lombardi is asking for the moon, then we just hang up and try to survive this mess of a situation.
Maybe Lou already did, who knows... but I wouldn't be against the idea of landing a solid up and coming netminder when our go-to-guys are over the age of 40.
They'll probably play Frazee and Kinkaid more before going outside the organization. If we have to lean on Moose then I'm getting my Monahan jersey ready.
I don't think LA is going to part with Bernier - he's been the savior when Quick goes to crap this season. The cup hangover and compressed season has been an issue for Quick and Bernier has 5 of their 12 wins in only 7 starts and much better stats. I don't see a reason to move him at all if I'm LA short of a super star coming the other way.
