Ribeiro to Ana, Chi, Tor, Van, Det, Ott?

If Caps Remain in the bottom of the standings, chances are slim that Ribeiro likes to resign in Washington. Teams mentioned in the title are all teams that according to the fourth period might look to bolster their top-6 in the middle.

I'd say Ribeiro has been by far the Caps best player so far an is leading the team in points with 25 (8 goals, 17 assists). He's tied for 11th place in scoring in the league, tied for 6th amongst centers in scoring and tied for 2nd in power play points.

Caps gave up Cody Eakin + 2nd for him, but he'll be worth more then that at the deadline.

What would your team offer (futures preferred)?

Caps prospect-needs is at C and LD.

The Ducks will likely wait until he becomes a UFA, and make an offer of 4 years/$5.5M per. Especially if Perry leaves.

No interest from a Canucks POV. We need a player more like Goc.

No, he'll be a rental. You might be able to get a late 1st for him.

As I've said in other threads, I'd be willing to give up Brandon Pirri + Dylan Olsen (No 2nd round pick this year) for him. But, anything more than that.. no thanks.

If Ribeirio was available to the Canucks for a decent price,I would jump at him in a heart beat.

Truth be told,I dont think Vancouver would have whats needed to get it done.

That's the problem. GMMG doesn't have a pedigree of paying the moon for rentals, the only guy he's ever moved a 1 st round pick for was signed to a 5+ year contract. Ribeiro is gonna be massively sough after at the deadline, when that occurs one team usually overpays.

He was a rental for the Caps, and he's top 10 in scoring now. Also plays C.

I would imagine he'd yield a 1st+prospect.

Senators aren't looking for rentals, and they likely aren't interested in re-signing Ribeiro either. I think you can count them out of this one.

He had a year left on his contract. He now has months. That changes things.

I keep seeing on twitter how happy Caps fans are about the Ribeiro trade, yet you gave up a prospect who's tearing it up in Dallas, and a 2nd, and you're in 2nd to last in the league. Yes he's putting up good numbers, but I doubt he stays in Washington after this year, and you definitely won't get anything near what you gave up to get him.

As a wings fan I would like to get him but it doesn't make sense for us give up an asset to get him. We are a couple pieces away from contending and the fact that he is a UFA this year it would make more sense for us to try and woo him if we deem he's needed.

Now if Alzner is up for trade I'm sure we could work a deal out.

When he was traded the lockout was looming, so there was a significant chance we'd be giving away those assets for nothing. His value at the deadline will be higher than it was then.

Kevin Connauton(LD prospect) + 2014 1st? Or 2013 1st and the Caps add their 2nd?

I think Toronto would say no thank you. He's a rat and on the wrong side of 30 for our team.

We'll see. To be honest, I don't see anyone giving up a 1st for a rental in this draft year.

I could see Ribeiro returning a late 1st rounder as a rental.

But you can probably cross the Canucks off that list. It's pretty clear that Gillis doesn't move such assets for rental players. Not only has he said it openly, but he's backed that up with every one of his moves.

Look for the Canucks to land a bottom-6 type rental player for a 3rd or 4th round pick (or equivalent value). This is Gillis' MO, as we've seen with his previous moves (Higgins, Lappiere, Pahlsson - all deadline rentals for the bottom-6, all acquired for mid-round picks).

How about Ribero to Washington? He wore the A last night.

Let these hfers cry when they lose a few one goal games and their power play goes 0-3 in the playoffs.

He'll probably return better than a late 1st. A late 1st and a decent/good prospect is more what I'm expecting. He certainly doesn't have less value now than he did in the summer for two reasons - prices always go up at the deadline and he has produced even better than expected.

I'd be more upset that my team only generated 3 powerplays in a playoff series than I would be upset that they went 0-for-3 on those PPs.

My bad I ment in one game...still come spring time dont think that wont happen.

As a caps fan and watching them play the rangers so often in the postseason,Ribero would make an impact in all the close games.
