Can we make it to training camp THIS year first

We aren't even sure what the team will eventually look like after camp!

I think the best thing you can say about this orginization now is;

1. We have a management team that is respected throughout the league (ty Bob)
2. We have a management team that understands the new NHL on the ice and off.
3. We have a scouting team that has finally filled the cupboard, not since the great dynasties has this occured.
4. We have players who want to play for the "sainte fanelle.... the holy cloth" (excuse my horrid spelling)
5. The ship has been righted, the Lions of Winter are ready to ROAR!
6. It not going to change anytime soon (see Bob's extension)

The 1993 Habs was not by any means a poor team. This is a myth that keeps being repeated to "prove" that the Canadiens can win the Cup soon. Yes, they can win the Cup soon IMO, but it has nothing to do with the 1993 team being bad.

The team had the best goaltender in the NHL in Patrick Roy, and was led by two of the best centres in the league, who both finished top 25 in scoring that year (Damphousse and Muller). They had a slew of scoring wingers in Lebeau, Savard, Leclair, Bellows, Dionne and Keane. The defense was young but effective. Desjardins, Schneider, Haller, Brisebois and Odelein were one of the most promising defense crews in the league, all 23 or less.

What do you believe the Habs need to contend?

They need Huet to keep playing well and the forwards to be healthy. That's it.
