That third goal was a mess for the Avs. Zanon just loses an easy puck battle in the corner; instead of clearing the puck around the wall, he tries to take the man (Kruger), but Kruger beats him there, has better body positioning and it leads to the 2-on-1 down low. Duchene porbably should have covered Stalberg, but because Zanon lost that puck battle, it forced Duchene to try and take the puck. Bad reads by both players there. O'Brien was just standing there with his stick in the air, easy tap in for Carcillo. Varlamov gets no help in front of him whatsoever, it's a shame because he's a great goaltender.
Well Kadri is sure proving a lot of nay-sayers wrong this season... I admit I had the impression that he was going to be more-or-less a bust after not being impressed with anything I saw from him prior to this season..... Hopefully Kreider can have a similar impact when he eventually gets another chance to prove himself at the NHL level later down the road....
Similar hit to Richards only real difference is the speed... But still a shove head first into the boards multiple feet from the boards
Exactly why I still think that Kaleta should have been handed 10+ games. From the first time you lace up the skates as a kid, it's ingrained into your head that you NEVER hit someone from behind in that position. I'm pretty sure I learned this before I could even tie my own skates. If Kaleta is interested, I'm sure I can dig up some old USA hockey "how to check" VHS tapes from my local rink.
What Kaleta did was on par with Chris Simon's stomp. Still heated about that damn play. God, I can't wait to see him get his ass beat when he comes back.
Isn't it two conferences with two divisions in each?
