Watching highlights of the Marlies... I rarely am impressed with Colborne (I know they are just highlights), for example though, in the recent game against Syracuse, on an odd man rush against, he's coasting back into the defensive zone following a syracuse player, the player receives a pass and is all alone on the goalie... Colborne's pace doesn't change at all, he just coasts all the into the crease and then stands there by the opposing player, doesn't initiate any contact, nothing.

I don't think the rumors about a poor work ethic were blown out of proportion. He's a big guy that absolutely will not initiate contact, and you will never see him give that extra 10%, let alone anything near 100%.

To be fair the pre-Malkin James Neal was nothing spectacular. Just a young promising power forward and the most likely outcome for Leivo if he does in fact make it.

Leivos shot is nasty. He scored on an absolute snipe between the hash marks the last Kitchener game i watched. It was so filthy I had to rewind and record it on my phone

We need a trade to happen first. I think we are at the max roster limit so unless we put one of our dmen on waivers and lose them to another team for nothing, we cant bring up gardiner til we open up roster space with a trade.

Unfortunately my friend, none of us have any idea

Carlyle has been stubbornly rolling with Korbinian Holzer and Mike Kostka and refuses to switch any of them out of the line-up.

We hope that Gardiner will get called up soon because our transition game has been god awful, but the reality is we have no idea.

I am very excited about Leivo, I think he has good chance of turning into a potential top 6 forward in the near future.

Guys Tom Wilson stats are as follows:

Plymouth Whalers OHL 48 23 35 58 104 36

Tyler Biggs stats are as follows:

2012-13 Oshawa Generals OHL 57 25 24 49 55 9

Tom Wilson is a full calendar year younger than Biggs, is it safe to say, Wilson is the much better Power Forward prospect?

Biggs is adjusting to the Junior game. Wilson has much more experience in the league.

Probably but your comparing what essentially is a vet to a rookie regardless of age.

Much better? No. Better? At this point probably yes. Am I happy with Biggs progress thus far? Yes.

This.

And regardless of experience, no, comparing only stats does not make it safe to say that one prospect/player is much better than another. That's not me saying that Wilson isn't a better prospect, I haven't really seen him play, nor have I even seen much of Biggs, so I can't really provide any substantial comparative analysis, but no, you can't just look at the stats sheet and unequivocally say one's better than the other. Either way, it doesn't matter, Biggs should be a player for us, and I can't wait to see how he develops. It's not like we had a choice between the two and picked one over the other, we have a solid power-forward prospect under 20, and Washington has a solid power-forward prospect under 20.

Only 4 or 5 games left in Moose Jaws season, with their last game being on March 16. After that we can expect to see Rielly with the Marlies, right?

Was never a fan of the percy pick with so many highly skilled players available.

His skillset is so...blah. Not great at anything. How has he been doing recently?

Could end up being our best pick from the draft.

He's fine. Yea he isn't a highly offensive guy but he'll be that calm presence when things are down and out for the count. He's a very cerebral guy and the way he sees the ice is far beyond his peers. Reason why he was able to adjust to the AHL level at a whim.

John Mitchell has a great shot, and he skates pretty well. Maybe he is just putting it together today, but that is patience.

lets not gush to much LR. he had a few good games.

kreider looked fantastic in NHL playoffs, has been marginal in the AHL at times.

Ofc he's far from a complete project but he's good good strides to become something good for us. Nothing extraordinary.

Quick Question. Since Rielly's team is going to miss the playoffs he will be eligible to play for the marlies after this. Say he played great on the marlies and the leafs wanted to call him up... would this burn a year of his contract? Could he play only five games? I know there is almost no chance of him playing for the leafs this season but I just want to know how that rule works.
