Tiebreakers - From NHL.com
1. The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage).
2. The greater number of games won, excluding games won in the shootout.
3. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.
4. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season.

I still think LA will end up being the team to beat in the west this year, but if the Stars are going to beat them on their home ice tomorrow night is as good a time as any.. this will be the Kings' 3rd game in 4 nights whereas we've had the entire week off.

Then again LA always seems to bring their A game against the Stars, and vice versa. I'm sure it will be a 1 goal differential either way.

With the way LA has played in the 3rd periods the past two games....we're only a Turco away from this one being a complete heart breaker.

I agree. We're catching both Kings and Yotes on 3rd game in 4 nights on this trip. Cole was brought over for this type of game tomorrow. Can't wait.

The 6-5 loss in LA the year after the 05 lockout was just as bad as that one.

http://stars.nhl.com/club/gamevideo.htm?id=2005020859

Or the 5-4 loss in 09...
http://stars.nhl.com/club/gamevideo.htm?id=2008020962

Or the even more heart breaking 3-2 loss in '11 (that home stand damn near killed me, believe that was the Selanne last second goal home stand)...

I didn't think that there was any chance of Dallas being Top 8 with three days off. I know they fell out briefly before a St. Louis loss pushed them back up, but I don't think I could be more pleased with the results of the last 3 days. Realistically ... this was a best case scenario.

8th in the West - 7th based on PTS%
16th in the NHL - 14th based on PTS%

They're 4th in the West in ROW .... still can't lose well or get to a SO and win often enough. They need to start taking advantage of the loser points and SO or they never going to put some distance between them and the pack.
