Cant say I know a ton on anyone outside the top 5, but from what I have read Robert Hagg and Josh Morrissey grab my attention. Obviously depends on where/if we pick.

I've got a soft spot for Nikita Zadorov. He's not your typical Russian defenseman in that he's a very physical guy and he can throw the dukes. His defensive positioning is superb and he's become an elite shut down guy.

His offensive skills are also underrated. While he doesn't get much power play time (a shame too because he's got a rocket of a shot that's low and accurate), he sees the ice very well and is very adept at moving the puck. He doesn't fumble the puck and has a very crisp breakout pass.

The other thing that I like about Zadorov is that for such a big guy, he can really skate. I mean, we're talking Jay Bouwmeester type skating. I'll say this about the big guy - if Dale Hunter had ever used him in an offensive role, he'd be right up there with Jones as the top defenseman of the draft. People might be all over me for that, but it's true. When Zadorov came to London, he knew that his defense needed work and he's decided to focus solely on his defense. Next year, with Sefton, Hughes and Harrington gone, he should slide into the number 2 spot (Maatta will probably be top dog) and get a ton of power play opportunities.

waiting for the results from grossmans mri

if that rock on our d is out for a few weeks, we r just gonna be moving up the 2013 draft charts. similar to a new lady gaga release, katy perry release, adele release, black keys release. our playoff chances are looking big time grim, at the season midpoint. just sit back and see what spot we end up with, and we can narrow our guys whom are in that draft range. then we can hammer out whom we want as individuals.

Except, while all those are fake musicians, the flyers are still a real hockey team... In the technical sense.

Good 9 minute interview with Pulock.

Also in the skills competition he recorded a 102 MPH slapper.... something this team could desperately use.

Pulock is one of the few defensive prospects I've gotten to see over the course of a handful of games. I like him a lot. Unfortunately, like Nurse... he's likely gone by 8-9. We probably aren't bad enough (baring another major injury) to have a great shot at picking top 8.

Man, would I love Seth Jones.

Anyone else planning on going to the NHL Draft? Definitely do-able for Flyers fans this year being it is in NJ.

9th overall pick at the moment. Can't see us getting the top 3 pick. Florida, Colorado and CLB are terrible.

If we can't draft 1 then who cares if we can draft 2 or 3. A top 5 or 7 pick allows us one of Nurse or Zadorav. a top 12 pick allows us to get Pulock.

I know we need defense but Im not crying if we have the 2nd or 3rd pick and pick either McKinnon or Drouin. Cant pass on those guys at 2 or 3. Grab another first and maybe take a guy like Hagg in the later 1st round.

Do you think Meszaros has any trade value left? I wonder how far we could move up in the draft with our 1st and Meszaros, say we have a pick around 10-13th, probably not enough to move into top 5 eh?

I don't think you could move up one spot with mez. Zero value, especially to a team with a high pick

no, ideally mez comes back healthy shows he can play, and then say for instance chciago trades for him we get their 1st pick.

then we can package both picks to move up.

If we get a 1st for Mez, Briere, Kimmo or/and anything else...I don't package any picks.
I take as many 1st rounders as possible and try to stock the depth all in 1 year. Then sign replacements in the summer.

I dont know if its THAT unreasonable especially with some teams below us (Caps and Flames) becoming better. We have a game 1-4 games in hand with the teams below us. They are all 1 win away from the Flyers having a top 5 pick.

it really depends, if the scouts see a game changer in the top 10 and u need to package picks to get him you do it.
