Don't think he can beat the face off lucic, but can probably hold his own against him

Habs should get thorburn for that! A goon who can play upwards of 10 minutes a game
I like Foligno as a player but he isn't good enough to play in the top 9 in Montreal and no he doesn't fight alot. He has had 13 fights in 400 games, and would get killed against most fighters. Prust/White/Moen will pound him if they fought.

He's fought Dale Weise twice, Brookbank this season and other tough guys. He's not paid to fight, but when he does he can hold his own.

Pass on Foligno, I've seen him in Ottawa and he's a streaky player. I probably say Foligno is closest to Benoit Pouliot.

I find it strange that almost all discussions are centered around a possible forward while the clear weakness of this team is on D.

Yeah lets not get carried away. Clowe would be our best fighter...strong as hell and good strategically, but he wouldn't beat the face off a heavyweight.

I think that's just because the cost to add a 2nd/3rd line forward is significantly lower than the cost to add a top 4 d-man in his prime years.

But once Kaberle is bought out this summer i do hope that Bergevin looks to add a d-man...preferably a physical one that can solidify the Markov pairing. Drop Emelin down to the 3rd pairing with Diaz.

I may get killed for saying this, but if either Weber or Diaz is traded....Kaberle may not be bought out. Next year he could be good to have around if Markov goes down or there are injuries. He hasn't played poorly since getting back into the lineup. Also, moving him wouldn't be as big of an issue as it is this year.

Obviously, if we sign a big ticket free agent then the writing is on the wall, but otherwise....I'm not sure.

Clowe doesn't know how to skate, let's get a formidable skater like Tom Pyatt instead...

Only in Montreal...

As per Lebrun Habs are looking for a Clowe type player. Wouldn't mind getting Clowe, hes a UFA at the end of the season so maybe something like:

Habs:
Clowe
2nd or 3rd Rounder

Sharks:
Gionta
Weber

Ryder scores too. He's probably a better skater than Clowe. Neither fits particularly well into our system

Doubt the Habs move Gionta

Lucic is a heavyweight when did that happen? Didn't he refuse to fight BGL hmm I guess if BGL is retired Lucic becomes a heavyweight. If you refuse to fight someone hard to call them a heavyweight right!

Foligno is better defensively and has a set of cajones on him.

Said it before, say it again. I'd like to make a call on Ladislav Smid.

Clowe is possibly worth more than Gionta (due to end of contract) and the 2nd/3rd is clearly better than Weber, so that's a no-no.

I like.

Let's keep talking about how bad Kaberle is, so that the other teams don't track him on the ice, and he can continue to sneak a few more assists in (that's goals for the team for the mentally challenged).
