Now, if Trotz will just roll Bartley out there with Klein and sit little Johnny Blum down with a "get it together and take Hannan's job" clearly communicated....

Why sit blum when he and klein have been the only two defensemen playing defense in the last couple games?
Being a combined +1 in two blow outs doesnt exactly warrant sitting..

Glennon said Bartley was paired with Klein for a good amount of practice.

Agreed. Blum is where Klein was a few years ago; he clearly has NHL talent, but he has to learn that he can't get by on talent alone at this level.

Weber-Josi
Klein-Bartley
Ellis-Hannan

I'm down with that.

Really though, I don't fault Poile right now, if he continues to do nothing then yes I will fault him. This is essentially the same team that had one of the best seasons in Pred's history just without Suter. Josi has filled in fine. The offense wasn't bad last season, but Fisher and Legwand may have the worst regressions in Preds history.
The problem is beyond Weber who you can't trade and Rinnie your roster holds little in trade value for most teams so Poile or whoever ends up replacing him is still handcuffed and ownership saying we will spend and then only opening up the vault to match on Weber is a problem for your GM.

Even though this still leaves them handcuffed for 1 more year, after next year Legwand and SK will be free agents. If Poile was smart, he would just let them go at that point. And Hannan and Yip's contracts are over after this year.

If he lets them walk for nothing he will be *****ed at again for not trying to get a return for them he is really in a no win situation in Nashville with ownership and player personel that he has. He has his 2 big fish in Weber and Rinnie and I think ownership seems like they are shying away from spending like they had reportedly said they were prepared to.

Let them go? With one year left, we can get a better return. Trade them at this deadline (if we're out of it). I think we can get some quality draft picks and/or prospects for them (especially Legwand).

Well Legwand can't be traded due to the NTC and he will not waive it because of his deep love for this area. But SK should be, but I don't know what one would get for him.

Something else that may be beneficial is Carrie Underwood is rumored to be considering judging X-Factor. Should she actually do that, then that may leave the door open to Fisher waiving his NTC and going to LA or one of the other California teams. This probably wouldn't happen until summer, but if it gets him off the team before next year, I'm all for it.

Legwand may surprise you. He may be thinking it's time to move on as well.

Unfortunatly SK isn't going to command much more than a late 4/5th round pick

I agree. His playoff history is not good at all. At this point, IMO, a 4th is fine.

I think its funny hali is the odd man out here. He was never supposed to carry our team. Yet he takes all the weight from management. Hopefully he is back up soon.

Pretty sad when we get to the point where even a bag of pucks will suffice for some players we no longer want to see on our perspective teams rosters. We were blown away to get a 2nd for Gill from you guys last year with how useless he was.

Based on that, you never know. Some teams may see him as a viable top-6 replacement and could drive the price up.

lol halischuk sent down... all these young guys taking the hit of legwand, farquaad, erat, weber, even rinne not playing up to potential. the problem with this team isnt spaling, halischuk, smith, etc .. its up at the top with all the guys collecting fat checks and playing like turds. nothing will change that except when we have a game against weak competition (columbus, colorado, dallas etc)
