My understanding is he is waiver exempt and can come in April.
I tihnk they'll call him up at least for EuroHockeyTour, who knows, maybe he stays for the World Champs too.
If he comes, I don't see him playing in the NHL right away. Hershey-bound. I'd rather try Wilson.

There was a long interview with him on TV after last game. He got the question if Kvalserien would be his last games for Leksand in a while, he basically said that he did not know. I got the impression that he will play where the caps want him to play next season. I think the chances he will stay are pretty big if his team is promoted though.

Not sure how the WC camps will work this year, his season will end in the middle of the second camp (out of three). That might be too late if he wants to get invited (if there has been cuts etc.). The third camp starts the 20th. Mika Zibanejad was in the exact same position last year and he went with the AHL option when his season ended.

I work for the Miami University Redhawks, and all i have to say is you guys got an absolute steal drafting riley Barber in the 6th round. He's just flat out filthy. Im at like every practice and home game so if you guys want any information on him just lemme know.

Got my Hockey News future watch issue today. Kuznetsov ranked 3rd overall, Forsberg 21st, and Wilson 62nd.

Caps top 10: the previously mentioned 3, Grubauer, Barber, Carrick, Galiev, Wey, Haar, and Mitchell.

Oleksy surprisingly not mentioned...

Well everyone knows THN is anti fighting so I'm sure that explains this blatant omission...

I'm not quite as high on Carrick but I guess I could see scouts thinking there's a pronounced gap after the top five and that he's the best of the bunch. Djoos would be just as worthwhile there. Djoos, Schilling and Stephenson are just as top ten worthy as Galiev & Haar.

Good to have improved depth anyway, though much of it is far off from this past draft class. Hopefully they'll add some college free agents here in the next month or two to try to fill the gap a bit.

Galiev? Haar? C'mon now.
I'd rather put Schilling, Stephenson, Djoos on top-10.Wondering if Kundratek is snubbed or not considered a prospect.

My guess would be, depending on their criteria, Tarasenko and Yakupov.

Thanks buddy. Who would you compare him to at the NHL level?

Kuznetsov would be No. 1 by a wide margin if there were certainty that he would come play in the NHL.

A wide margin better than Tarasenko? That sounds sexy.

Tarasenko isn't considered a prospect anymore.

I guess we're talking about 2 different THN pieces and not just 1 then.

Capitals Spring Top 20 prospects will be posted soon. Some good adjustments that include the addition of Riley Barber to the list.

Also, expect to see Filip Forsberg, Patrick Wey, and Tom Wilson join the Hershey Bears this spring. That should really help the Bears in the playoffs.

I hope you're right. I want to see these guys against pro competition on small ice.

I think Wilson may go very far in the playoffs so he won't be available (like Galiev last spring).

I thought that players drafted out of the CHL cannot play in the AHL till they are 20?
