special teams will decide this game.

don't think it'll be as out of hand as it was in pittsburgh. vokoun was definitely a big part of that.

someone will win 3-2.

I think they come out hard and get this one. As usual, there will be at least eight goals combined from both teams by the end of the game. The main boards will erupt with threads about the "lol defenses", both goalies will get a thread, and everybody will ignore the fact that both offenses are just really good. It'll be just another Flyers/Pens night on HF Boards.

I said earlier that I don't feel good about this game, I guess I'll explain. I imagine the Pens would like vengeance for the last game; on top of that, Read isn't 100%, Grossmannnnn isn't 100%, Bryz is wobbly, and the last outing everyone looked off. Maybe they'll get up for this game, but I'm not going to bet on it.

Ha. It will. The best part about these games are they are the games I use to get my friends into hockey. They can't believe hockey afterwards.

Hoping for a big game from Brayden Schenn. Decapitate some Penguins, score a goal, etc.

Would love to see Malkin-Couturier Part 2 from our last match up. Hilarious how our 20 year old just goes continually pokes the reigning Hart Winner and knocks him off his game, all while maintaing to be totally B.A.

If we do badly the rest of the year, I at least want us to win our games against the Pens. I can't stand them and winning against them always feel extremely satisfying. I feel like the Flyers are the only team that can match up against them for some reason.

Same here. The first round series last year is what turned my girlfriend of four years into a diehard fan from just a casual watcher. I even catch her lurking HF occasionally, even though she denies it on the premise that we're all sports nerds. I know people loved to ***** about that series last year, and cry about how much of an abomination it was to our precious sport, but that was the kind of series that got people watching the game. It was ferocious, emotional, and flashy. I had friends who have always been just casual watchers texting me to tell me how awesome it was to watch all six games.

I hope couts is up for it. This may be the best Malkin we've seen since a few playoffs ago. I don't think we should go anything but 0-3 over these games but we can make the playoffs with likely slowing from the canes and sens devils and poss leafs. It's nice to make the playoffs we always do some damage opening round. Guys just aren't old enough yet to put it together

Lets just say we hope there's a more defensive structured game tonight, since neither can seem to find their inner defense, drinking is required method of watching these two play one another.

*Cheers*
Thank you. It isn't flashy but it gets the job done.

Defensive pairings need a change, IMO. Coburn looks lost and can't move the puck at all. Splitting up Grossmann and Coburn might be for the best, and Schenn has proven he can hold his own out there (although against the Pens it will be difficult). Put Coby back with Timonen and roll Grossmann and Schenn? We need a mobile defender BIG TIME.

Could be ugly tonight, like to see Neal and Gina hit CLEAN and hard, even in a loss that would make me feel better

An apparent line of Read, Couturier and Gagne.

Why is Read playing if he's not 100%? Wasn't his injury pretty serious (I'm not really sure though)

It's silly if Read isn't 100% there's a pretty big chance he could get hurt worse tonight, I understand why he would be in the line-up but shouldn't risk it
