Yandle and Hanzal for ?

IMO Pho needs some dazzle to go with the grit, so a deal like this is plausible with theif defensive depth.

For the oilers to make this deal they will need to move one of the big 4. IMO it is either Yakupov or Eberle. I think That a deal will also have to include a center going back, so Gagner would probably be involved.

I can see Eberle being better suited to Pho sine they are reeady to compete now and Eberle is more developed than Yakupov.

Gagner, Eberle and Whitney for Yandle,Hanzal and a 3rd.

This is a huge win for the Yotes skillwise, but the oilers need what Hanzal brings so badly that it works for them. The Yotes would need a d-man to bridge them for the rest of this season so maybe the oilers throw in Whitney who is a UFA. This gives the Yotes a 5-6 experianced d-man with the potential to do more. They are very good at reclamation porjects and maye this turns the deal into a huge win for them

Yotes top 6 after this deal:

Boedker Vermette Eberle
Sullivan Gagner Doan

top 6 d-men

OEL michaelek
Klesla morris
Rundblad Whitney

Oilers top 6

Hall RNH Hemsky
MPS Hanzal Yakupov

Oilers top 6 d-men

Yandle Smid
Schultz Schultz
Petry Fistric
Don't know why Eberle's name keeps coming up lately but he's not going anywhere, the Oilers main problems are not on defense this year. We could use Hanzal (as could any team) but not at the price of the big 4 which is likely what would be asked for.

Gagner's near worst in the NHL (for centers) at face offs is not appealing on a Dave Tippett team. This is why Maloney went after Vermette instead last year at the deadline.

I think that there has to be a move done with one of the big 4 to make room for grit and toughness in the top 6. There just isn't a market out there for Hemsky or Gagner as the center piece for the types of players the oil need. The fact that they look to be getting another top end draft pick will make it easier to swallow a move of one of the big 4 as well. The fact that Eberle is the best of the big four right now is a why you move him. You can't move RNH and Hall is the only left winger, so it comes down to either Yakupov who is still an unknown quantity or Eberle. Gagner is almost an automatic to be included on a deal as well as he is producing and his spot on the 2nd line needs to be filled by a big physical center who can win a face off. This is one of those cases where you have to give to get.

No, no he's not. OEL will blow you away if you watch him for a few games, every single time he decides to jump in on offense it's the correct read, he is an incredible skater, has a lethal shot. He is basically a swedish Pietrangelo

Not saying the Coyotes should take it but it's really not that lopsided. OEL has slightly more value than Eberle and Hanzal has slightly more value than Gagner but neither is a home run in terms of value and the Oilers have a +...
Let me put it this way, Hanzal is everything EDM needs in a center right now. Hanzal is a much better all around player than Gagner, and OEL has WAY more value than Eberle.

OEL is already a number 1 defensemen. at worst he's a top 10 defensemen in the entire league, and that far outweighs the value of a 30-35 goal winger
