No way hes being cut imo. Unless he sleeps on the blue line for 90% of the practices, witch is doubtfull.

Im a little more worried about Price, he should dominate this camp if he is what was said of him. He got 1 year on Bernier and Irving, so he got Tyler Plante and Levasseur to beat, should be easy normally. His spot to loose imo. For backup? who?

Yeah it *could* be... but your title is misleading, he's just in the camp still, and look at the other lines, so many good players

He's not on the team yet, but I just hope he gives more effort than usual for once

Didn't Latendresse stink up the joint at the WJC last year and he was benched? I wouldn't go out and say that he's going to make the team this year. Remember, Hartsburg was an assistant to Sutter last year and I don't think Hartsburg would forget about Latendresse's less than stellar performance.

If we could bring both teams to the WJC, do you think we could compete for 2 medals?

Each and every goaltender will most likely share the playing time for the camp...half and half...

And Team Canada will most likely keep Brassard and Latendresse...they will play together for sure...

Not entirely accurate, Latendresse didn't "stink up the joint" he was played sparingly (which is being generous).

the team might not be made of the player we see here. Bourdon is a lock IMO to make nucks D next season, Latendresse could make habs roster, marc staal also has some good chances in new york...that's already three heavy weapons

When you build a national team, you want to go with proven chemistry. Brassard and Lats got that. Add Downie and you got a dangerous line.

Last year, doesnt really matter, I think a lot of folks didnt see Lats under perform while Sutter disliked him. I'm still clueless of what he did wrong. He took some risks upfront, didnt hit? Anyway, he was 18! One of the young guy on the team. This year he will be a vet.

How long till they try the Giroux-Brassard-Lats line?

Setoguchi will have to get slotted in the lineup somewhere when he gets healthy. Not to mention there is always a player or two that wasn't invited having a great year.

Only a part of our future...
Please not that a number of excellent NHL players were cut from WJC teams before.

It was just some person at another message board writting (inventing?) that Marc Lachapelle of le Journal de Montreal apparently said he expected Latendresse to be cut. Essentially no one can confirm it was ever heard.

Last summer, Tender proved to be BY A FREAKING MILE the best player at the WJC camp. He exploded offensively and dominated every scrimmage. I think he finished with about 12 points in 5 games, by far the best player there. Plus, he distributed some heavy shots on the boards.

That's why Sutter kept him even if he was lagging at the winter camp. He knew the kid had the potential in him.

This year, his job is his to lose.

You really have a chubby over Latendresse's performance at last year's WJC. Last time ther was a topic on latendresse you blessed us with this exact same opinion as well - we get it!!!

It does not seem to register in your brain that many kids have had average WJC's at 18 years of age. Many didn't even make their WJC teams at 18. It also doesn't appear to register that there is an extra forward on each team, and Lats happened to get that designation on a couple of occasions

Not sure you noticed, but the Canadian team last year wasn't too bad, won something called a Gold Medal.

Now do us all a favour and fly off to obsess over the comedic machinations of a boob named Clarke. You two are apprently made for each other.

From what I remember, he was out of shape at camp last year, something like that.

Actually Pierre McGuire (the anti-christ over here) mentioned that it was the Habs' fault Lats was so out of shape. He said we should have given him a workout program and a nutrition program to follow, especially considering how big he could be for the team in the future. Since in junior, you're always taking the bus everywhere and it's long trips, the kids end up eating alot of fast food and crap because it's the easiest thing for them.

Yeah I think they corrected that this year. Thats a good reason. For the record I have watched all the teams games and I didnt find Lats bad or dangerous for the team. This was simply the continuation of the bad vibe he had after being rejected at the habs camp. Problably felt like hell on earth for the boy.

One should also keep in mind that Latendresse reached the legal drinking age in Quebec last season. I don't know about you, but beer consumption adds pounds to my frame. I have a feeling he may have taken up the habit. Something else to monitor as well.

Is Chipchura not available to be on the team or was he not good enough to make it?

Speaking of Habs prospects at the camp...why did Maxwell decline to go again?
