The Pats are giving the Oil Kings fits again. 3-2 Regina so far and Lowe left the game with an injury.

Good to see them put the hammer down and do what good teams do.

Was just listening to Oilers and bob and louie were having discussion about Riley Simpson and they were saying he might now go too the Oil Kings. That would be a solid addition to the club next year if it happens.

I like Riley's play alot. He reminds me of Lazar the way he'll go to the dirty areas and drives the net the same as Lazar. FRom what I see he goes hard every shift.

He's not going NCAA route like his brother and dad?

Weird.

He had a good season with south sides midget AAA team this year, I thought it was because he was planning on playing in the AJHL next year.

He has yet to decide what route he is taking, but they would not be shocked him he choose the oilers

This is an excerpt from an email I got today from the Oil Kings.

Quote:
Oil Kings playoff tickets for the first round of the 2013 WHL Playoffs go on sale this Friday March 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. The Oil Kings have clinched first place in the Central Division and can clinch first place in the Eastern Conference with a victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings Friday. Edmonton's first two playoff home dates are confirmed at Rexall Place versus a to be determined opponent. Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal Series goes Friday March 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday March 24, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. >> DETAILS
The $99 ATB Financial Playoff Pass is on sale now at OILKINGS.CA. That's every Oil Kings home playoff game in 2013 for one low price of $99. Fans can save up to $277 if the Oil Kings go the distance and will reserve a seat in the Upper Bowl of Rexall Place for the entire playoff run.
Last year the atb playoff seats were at the end of the rink. This year they are between the blue lines in the upper bowl. Much improved seats imo. Last year I bought the atb pass and I think I paid about 9 bucks a game when all was said and done.

I would urge people to take advantage of this. Could be the only playoff hockey we get to see around these parts for a good while as the Oilers continue to spin their wheels. Last year's run was exciting, great, competitive hockey. At $99 for the entire playoffs, it is entirely accessible for just about anyone.

Yeah, Laxdal mentioned it on OilersNow a couple of weeks ago. I guess Gernat he has to write a couple of exams back in Slovakia to finish high school. Something like that.

Too bad because he needs to get more games in before ploffs.

Oil Kings won 3-2 in a shootout last night against Brandon. With the win they clinched 1st place in the east. So guarenteed home advantage for the 1st 3 rounds
Moroz had a goal and an assist. E****y also had an assist.
Keegan Lowe made is return last night so no worries of him being out long term.

Trevor Cheek opens the scoring for the Oil Kings 13 seconds in with his 30th of the season. He becomes the fourth Oil King to hit that mark this season: St. Croix, Lazar, Samuelsson and Cheek. TJ Foster still has a shot at 30 too. He's on 27 goals.

The Oil Kings are beating the red hot Saskatoon Blades 2-0 after two periods. It's great to see that they're asserting themselves against their fellow top clubs.
