After a bad period, good coaches change up their system, close up the holes and discuss the problems.

Laviolette punches a coke machine.

I think it is time as well....especially if after this critical stretch of 4 games we see the same inconsistency. So far it is looking like 0-2 and tonight there is no excuse if they lose....

He benched Couturier in favor of Max Talbot, yea I'm firing him. Talbot has been horrendous all night, so if Couturier isn't injured (and he just took a shift) it makes no sense.

I think this game tipifies bad coaching. To lose a 4-1 lead game shows a lot of incompitance. Ruff is a good coach and there typically is not such a good coach available like this.

3:39 left and I know for a fact that we've lost. I've felt this a lot this season and they've never surprised me.

When was the last time we scored an equaliser with an empty net?

Disagree think he has structure and a team like this with so many parts needs that.

Briere gets a **** load of ice time at the end, when he doesn't deserve it. Couts being benched in favor of Talbot who hasn't done **** offensively. Gagne barely used in the 3rd period or had no one to work with. Briere literally brought down the entire line.

I'm not a Laviolette hater, but I agree with you. Briere is so blatantly killing this team right now that giving him that kind of ice time is inexplicable

After a loss like this, he should most certainly be fired.

Pathetic

Plus cutting off Couts' time or putting him with only 4th liners is just as big of a mistake. Talbot took over his time. Hell, Gagne even had more time than Couts, even though Gagne still did all he could.

I wouldn't call it "no adjustment" as it was more of a thing where it was letting the team taking the foot off the gas pedal.

Pitt made adjustments defensively after the first and Lavy didn't do anything to counteract except do his usual line juggling like a mad scientist and sure enough Flyers lost...

Feel like there has to be some pressure from above to keep Danny on the ice--try to get a flashy goal or two before Homer picks up the phone to move him.

It isn't working.

Continuing to award ice time to briere and Talbot is not making adjustments.

Remember that time he kept willingly choose to put Briere out against Malkin, repreatedly, even when he had last change?

I think that's the last straw for me. It's not like we have a player who cancels Malkin out or anything like that.

Oh, wait.

I don't know if Ruff is a good coach or not. I always thought his tenure in Buffalo lasted way longer than it should, but he also had an owner that wasn't willing to spend money for a long time

There were 35 minutes after we all thought 'uh oh, this isn't working any more' where he should have adjusted it. He did nothing. He has the tactical awareness of a cannonball. He shouldn't be coaching above peewee level quite frankly, His Plan B is Plan A again.

Boosh is saying it was taking the foot off the gas and not an X's and O's thing but I question Lavi's bench management....
