You know, Fleury held the fort early, that game could have easily gotten 6 to 1 or worse. He'll bounce back, not worried in the least bit.

2 big +s just because of how long it feels like its been since I could say them

- 2 straight periods of staying out of the flyers bs and just playing hockey
- playing a nearly perfect 3rd period protecting a lead

Beau looked great. Crosby as usual. Neal actually listened to bylsma or whoever else in the locker room, there's hope afterall.

They shouldn't dress goalies in these games.

James Neal needs to get his head out of his ***, pronto. There was one shift in the third, I watched Malkin get mauled by two guys to make a play, then I watched Bennett get destroyed along the boards to make a play, and then, as the puck flows around to Neal, he sees Luke Schenn coming at him. He steps out of the way and, in the process, kills the play. I don't care if he had a goal. I don't care if the Flyers started trolling him. There's a right way to play and a wrong way to play, and Neal is doing it the latter way.

If I had liver and kidneys, the Penguins would finish them off. Just followed online, couldn't stand to watch anymore.

+ to Bylsma for whatever he did during the 1st intermission to get everyone dialed in.

Did anything change from an Xs and Os standpoint? Every time I did a look-in on the game, I noticed that Philly was having a hell of a time getting through the neutral zone.

+ Great 2nd and 3rd on the defensive side.
+ Vokoun for doing what he needed to tonight and stinking so much before tonight that team actually played inspired D in front of him.
+ Sid line

- PK - It's going to be their undoing again in the playoffs unless they fix it.
- Fleury - Bad rebound/Bad Timmonen goal; two others deflection. But man, he looked shaky. Flyers are definitely in his head.

Oh, absolutely. Didn't mean to imply otherwise.

Fully agree on Despres. Needs to play. Every game. Regardless of opponent.

I'll eat crow:

Eaton has been almost invisible these past couple games. Good job man.

Engo on the other hand, I want out of the Top 6 in favor of Despres.

I think this was Tyler Kennedy's best game of the season. I think it may not even be close. Is he trending upward or is this just a blip? We shall see.

I think bad Paul Martin is starting to creep back. I thought he was really struggling with the Flyers forecheck tonight. Late in the game against Simmonds, he almost made the biggest blunder of the night but the Flyers didn't capitalize.

I think Eaton-Letang should be paired together and serve as the new shutdown D pairing until further notice.

Overall, a good win but an ugly one.

Let's see if this leads to anything different in Toronto.

tonight was a rough one. I wonder if he realized he is just better off playing disengaged than taking stupid penalties. Not that its a good excuse...

The good news is that he can still score a goal in such a bad game

+ Crosby: Another 3 point night
+ Dupuis: Finally got on the score sheet
+ Bennett: Guy looked like he knew what he was doing out there
+ Malkin: No points, but he still played very well
+ Vokoun: Wasn't challenged all that much, but held the fort down
++++++++ Flyers blowing a lead

= Neal: Got a goal, but needs to be more disciplined

- Fleury: Rough night, but he'll rebound
- First period: Were they reenacting last year's playoff series for 20 minutes?
- Officiating: Very inconsistent

Yeah, I saw that too. He stepped over the puck to avoid the hit and in the process he lost the puck. Dumb play.

+Nice win
+skated with some speed and pressured the flyers D

-neal and his constant bad positioning and his skating is just so slow. Just has little speed and gets caught behind the play.
-MAF not enough big game stops.

There's no excuse for the lineup changes, although oddly the 4th line with Jeffrey did not give me any chest pains, as they were not a liability tonight against a dangerous team.

Once they got a netminder back there that could stop the trash that came through, they looked solid.

And F Fleury. While the rest of you were strutting around the last 2 weeks about him shutting down crap teams, i knew what was coming. Once a turd, always a turd. I'm glad Vokoun is playing better. We need a goalie come playoffs. Really don't which one it will be right now. As long as one of them can handle it.
1. You are so right about the impact of HOW this happened.

2. More than anything, Vokoun's ability to move the puck completely ****** up the Flyers forecheck.

Just a couple thoughts. First, we played a great 2nd/3rd. Glad we didn't fall into the Flyers trap like we were in the 1st.

As well as we played team D after the first (especially the 3rd) we still continually let players be open/un-hit right in front of the net. What the hell is up with that?!?! Luckily a couple passes couldn't have been handled, or we could very well be discussing how our D was still letting players be open. Funny that a win and some better D takes some heat away that there's still was a major issue. Was team D good? Yes, but it still has a ways to go.

Bennett is great. His scoring will come. Love seeing him in the corners and coming back on D. He needs to be able to control passes though. What's with the puck bouncing right off his stick all the time? He's tough with the puck, but seems to have such a hard time getting it.
