Clearly this season is Giroux's fault. If only we would've given a grizzled veteran like Danny Briere the C, we'd be like 25-0 right now. Giroux just wasn't ready for the C, which has resulted in Laviolette's lack of adjustments, our goalies' inability to stop a beach ball let alone a puck, and our horrendous defensive puck movement.

Eff you and your leadership Claude Giroux!!!!

Trade him to LA.

I said from the get go that he was not ready to be captain yet, and I think he's shown no reason for us to believe otherwise. He just doesnt seem to have that leadership, the physical presence on the ice.

We need our captain to be a guy who can play both ways, score (of course), but at the same time, can fight and throw the body around, and get into the dirty stuff.

Look at some of our past captains

Lindros, Primeau, Richards, Pronger....these are guys who are leaders. Richards was not the best pure goal scorer on the team, that was Carter's job, Giroux should not have to handle both.

Unfortunately, we lack a player like the aforementioned 4 at the moment.
And they brought this team what?

I thought it was too early to give him the C, but it was clear that it was his team. A captain doesn't need to fight to be a captain. Giroux is as physical a player you're gonna find for his size and skill level. He's not a perimeter player.

hartnell brought up lavy saying it wasn't his fault for the second period without being asked, that is usually a sign of the writting being on the wall, when players start sticking up for the coach without any provocation it means they know something we don't, like organizational whispers of the coach being on the chopping block.

Get Briere off the team somehow, trade for a competent back up and try and go on a run.

Which of the goals, except the 4th was clearly his fault?

I dont know. Seems like every goal Bryz lets in isnt his fault. He's screened = not his. Deflection = not his. Breakaway = not his. Shots from the dot = not his.

Seriously, when the hell is it his fault? These are the same damn goals that our ****** goalies in the past have let in and we complained about them, BUT since Bryz had 1 or 2 good seasons in PHX hes an elite goalie and is immune to that criticism.

How many goals do they need to score so that Bryz can't **** it up?!
This team sucks! They have no idea about defense, and continue to make the same mistakes constantly. Laviolette has no control over his team. Fire him! Now!

I imagine he was up in the press box or Snider's box for several games. He very well might have heard things.

Been a fan a longgggg time, been through some tough years. But we have a great team on paper....on paper but not product on the ice. This game really left a bad feeling all over my body, and not talking about the pneumonia that I have.

I dont know who else becomes captain, but G should resign and focus on scoring and setting guys up.
Reminiscent of what was said of a certain individual who ended up hoisting the Stanley Cup last year on a different team- good grief will the cycle never end!

I think your blame in this loss is missguided. I am not absolving Bryz of anything (and never have), but the whole team lead by the head coach crapped the pants in the second and third.

Bryz must go either this off season or the next (if Snyder decides to shell a boatload of money for buying him out). His contract is not sustainable and his play is not inspiring, but tonight loss is not on him. That's my personal opinion.

we have a lot of really good pieces but this is obviously not a complete team. were missin some major leadership and i think its getting to that time with laviolette. sucks cause it was such a sloppy start but it just snowballed and now the team looks incapable of consistent play. i wish we could just make the moves were gonna make now but those moves aren't lined up yet. i don't really want to see lavi fired.

I guess I was right. The Flyers did channel their inner Pronger. They had no peripheral vision (no knock on Pronger). At least Lavy didn't, anyways.
