We are the most embarrassing fanbase in the NHL - there's a difference between passion and stupidity.

Might as well be those posters on the TML Facebook page.

I think it is obvious that we have to trade Kessel for a young playmaking centre so we will have someone to set up our only scoring winger,Kessel.

It all depends on what we are getting back for him.

Positives:
- Legitimate scoring threat
- Top-line player on 29 other teams in the NHL
- Elite talent with the puck

Negatives:
- Not THE go-to guy
- VERY soft
- Folds under pressure

Phil is an amazing hockey player and if we are to trade him we should be getting an amazing hockey player in return. Preferably one who initiates contact and thrives in pressure situations.

I believe Phil was brought here by Brian Burke to be our go-to guy, but the truth is, he isn't that type of hockey player. He's not a guy that should be put on the ice when a team is down by a goal and told "Go and tie this up for us", because he simply doesn't handle pressure well at all. ESPECIALLY if the opposition is targeting him physically. Phil Kessel should be a team's second best forward. It's that simple.

Can he demand much of one? I don't think he's going to get a UFA style raise, but maybe a small one.

Sure Carter isn't as good offensively but I'd say his all-round game is better and would fit Carlyle's system better.

I'd do Kessel + for Backstrom right now. Doubt the Caps would though.

Do people ever fact check?

Kessel makes less than Chara and $150,000 more than Krejci.

Carter's "I don't give a shot meter" is in the negatives and he has a horrid contract. I absolutely do not like Kessel, but I wouldn't trade him for that guy either.

I'd give Jordan Nolan a better shot at producing on our top line against Boston than Kessel. I mean that.

The people that want Kessel traded are generally the same people that have correctly been critical of this team for the past 7 disastrous seasons.

The people that want to keep Kessel are generally the same people that have been humiliatingly incorrect about this team for the past 7 seasons.

Speaks volumes...

Are we still talking about the team that's 6th in the NHL?

Must really bother you seeing the Leafs win being as big a hater as you are. I love that. I hope it eats at you that Burke assembled a winning team.

I just want to see him one time play with a real C. He has played with Stajan and then Bozak the whole time he has been here. That's ridiculous. It makes me so angry!

Be serious for a moment, Kessel shows little pride playing head to head against Seguin, he floats around on the perimeter scared of contact, Seguin outfought 2 guys for the puck on the opening goal. Those are little things but they add up.

Its not even a surprise anymore, Kessel's lack of drive against the Bruins speaks volumes of his heart and soul, not much there. You want talent, Kessel is it. You want heart, pride, and soul, Kessel is no where close to having these traits.

Kadri has been playing with grinders all season long. Stop blaming everyone else for Kessel's failures.
