No offense to you but this is what bothers me the most about the entire Eller/Desharnais discussion.

Its not a zero sum competition.

Why must you put down Desharnais while complimenting Eller?

Last time I checked, they both play for the Habs.

Halfway point of the season for the Habs already.. Who have been the biggest surprises and biggest disappointments in the first half of this season for the Habs in your opinion?

Maybe a new thread would be a better idea for this?

Edit.. Looks like it was done just before my post here..

Eller doesn't do much, that's why he has been playing at a PPG clip and has been our best center in the last two games.

You guys overreacted at 2 bad games and took that opportunity to crap everything you've been holding in the previous 19 games on him. It wasnt just "oh price is not playing, but I'm sure he'll pick it up." Instead it was "see Price is so overrated, not elite goalie, overpaid, halak, blah blah" all that for 2 games.
It's true. This was pretty much the thread. Bash, bash, bash, "I'm not saying anything ridiculous, just commenting fairly on a player overall based on 2 anomalous games." That's when I just gave up on that thread.

Soooo happy that Price returned to beast mode tonight. Mostly for Bobby

Damn, Weber injured may mean that we won't be able to get that precious 5th round pick in a trade.

Therrien for sure! So calm. Diaz and Bourque both having great years. Thought Armstrong would be a bit more of a pest with a chip on his shoulder. Wouldn't have thought Pacioretty would be hovering at a PPG pace.

3rd in the league at the half-season.

I'd be more enthusiastic if the Leafs weren't 6th.

I'd argue he's been our best centre for a good chunk of the season. The problem with fans and "analysts" is that they won't recognize this if someone isn't putting up the points. He plays such a complete game, it's been over a month now that he's dominating the possession game, creating chances, killing the board work aspect. 14 points over his last 18 games, with little PP time, not playing with the team's best wingers.

Such a complete player. Too bad people only looking at stats or else they would have appreciated his game much earlier than this year.

So what your saying is...

There is an inverse correlation between the amount of time Weber plays and the success of the Montreal Canadiens?

I have said this before on this board, the players, coaches, wives/girlfriends, moms and dads, brother and sisters and most importantly, friends of NHL players come here to talk hockey. The posts that degrade or belittle the players on our team are out there for all to see and read. If I was a player and read what some of you write about the players on the team you love, after a win, I would would walk when the walking was good.

Price has been great for us this season, so much so he is being considered as the starter at Sochi, but you all just bash him. Our team is first in the conference right now and top four in winning % in the league, what is there to complain about?

As well as Eller has played since being benched, Pelanec is still our best center in 9 of 10 games. Tonight Eller was, but it's the exception.

Price can go 8-1-1 in his next 10 games with a 1.46 GAA and a .944% SV, but if he has a bad night on games 11 and 12, it well be hell here again.
