I dont think you need to show case him. BOS already knows what they're getting from Briere

I don't like New Briere.
I do think age is catching up to him. It's gotta be time to sell "high" (cant see him getting better)

I was thinking the same thing when I seen Cooter go to the fourth line and not Briere. If that trade happens I also could see Lavy getting fired at the same time. A fresh start is what this team could need right now to put together some wins and squeak into the playoffs.

Then Lavy has to go. Danny was the last Flyer that deserved ice time at the end.

Could you remind me again what that is that they're getting?

I think Briere would do very well on that Boston team. They can cover his faults on defense and keep feeding him the puck behind the net. And come playoff time I am sure he would turn it to another level like always.

Tocchet. But they need a backup goalie asap, or just start playing Boosh in 6 of the next 7 to give Bryz a rest.

Briere has been asked to waive his NMC/NTC, but he's asking for a lot to waive. In particular, he's asking for housing and travel arrangements for his ex-wife to see and spend time with the kids and he's asking that whatever team he moves to, they pay for a tutor to go on the road with him and his kids so that they aren't behind in school AND he's asking that the team pay for his ex-wife to go on the road with them so she can spend time with the kids. Could make for interesting discussions.
If this is anywhere near the truth it has to be done if Briere will waive his nmc/ntc

Briere is looked at as a veteran leader by the young guys. He has stated that he doesn't try as hard in the regular season, saving himself for the playoffs. I wonder if that has rubbed off on some of the other players.

Im sure some guys on the team are doing that, but the whole team? Im encouraged that Briere is looking for housing for his family in the case he is traded. That shouldnt cost more than 100k per year for whatever team trades for him.

If you don't try hard in the regular season, you won't ever make the playoffs.

Yea, I know. I was just pointing that out to see if maybe that is a reason why the team has looked so out of it at times this season.

Briere was actually on sort of a hot streak recently. Now it's time for his cold streak.

Why would his kids and ex wife go on the road with him? If they are in school, wouldn't they stay in school for attendance purposes? Sorry, I just don't buy it.

Looking at Briere's gamelog.
he had 3 in 2 games in mid feb (Habs and Isles)

last 8 games he has zero goals and 5 assists. His 5 goals came in a 9 game stretch in early to mid Feb. Of course hes looked like crap for a couple weeks at least now.
So yeah there is nothing to "showcase" If anyone wants him they know what your going to get.

All he can do is pass the puck. He doesn't put himself in place to use his shot.

His shooting accuracy, last I checked, is right on par. He's just not getting shots.

There are still 10 games before the trade deadline, but it sure looks as if this team is going to fail to make it.

Briere's cap hit his last season will eventually be an issue with resigning Giroux, Schenn and Couturier. I don't think the Flyers are going to win the cup this year or in the next two. He has value based on his playoff history.

If they are not making the playoffs, I think they have to try and trade him. He should waive to go to a legit contender.
