Figured, a righty is needed.

Good for Pats! He's clearly deserved the call-up.

YES! The forgotten aspect of the Grabovski trade!

Seriously, I am excited. He's been developing at a pretty good rate the last couple of years. He's an intriguing prospect, has the size and knows how to use it.

Does this mean Mtl has traded one of our D. I had the feeling they were showcasing Weaver tonight

No, Weber hurt himself tonight. We're playing 2 games in 2 nights on Sat-Sun far away from Hamilton, a call-up was needed for insurance.

Pretty pumped to potentially see Pateryn play, however slim the chance is.

I remember selecting him in the same draft as Schenn, I think. Toronto traded him along with a 2nd for Grabovski.

I knew it was a thank you gesture from Gainey for allowing to talk to Mats Sundin that draft year.

acquired along with a 2nd round pick in the Grabovski trade to Toronto. Still developing D-man. Good size, smart player. Knows how to use his size effectively. Has some work to do, but his development has taken a positive turn the last couple of years. Flown under the radar.

This could also be a showcase for Pateryn to show if he can be the big physical D we need instead of going out and trading for one (or signing one this summer).

Most NHL-ready defenseman in our prospect pool if you ask me.

maybe it's just cause i mix their names up, but he's my next Aaron Palushaj in terms of panning out on this team any time soon. but i admitedly don't know enough about him and am not meaning this to be some declaration.

No re-entry waivers anymore under the new CBA.
