I don't think he'll end up playing unless Kaberle really ***** the bed or another D injures himself (knock on wood) but I'm still happy for him. He's been developing nicely.

I remember saying we should have never traded Grabs to Toronto and Gainey was an idiot. Then Grabs goes on to injure Markov.

Well here is the big reward years later, Greg Pateryn. Hope it was worth the wait.

Hopefully he won' t have to go thru waivers on his way back to Hamilton.

With Kaberle back, I don' t think we gonna have the chance to see him.

Grabs in Toronto sort of prevented them from fully tanking. Now he's signed to a bad contract for years to come. Fine by me.

What's your point? He's been in our system for almost 5 years. We traded Grabovski for him.. Don't you remember that?

Ya losing Markov was a wonderful side effect too.

Congrats to Pateryn, got to see a lot of him at Michigan and Hamilton. If he plays it should be interesting to see how he does. Here's some notes on him,

He's got NHL size and strength, plays a solid two way game although this year he's really picked it up in the offensive zone. Knows how to use his size, not overly physical but can dish out some big time hits. Has a cannon of a shot and can move the puck well enough. Plays a smart, safe game in his own end.

Not a lot of holes in his game either, I would like to see him get quicker but even if he doesn't play it should be a great experience for him. He's earned the call up as he's been the Dogs best defensemen of late.

Highly recommend following the stickied prospect threads. IMO the most informative stuff on this board gets posted there, there are some great posters who spend their time over there discussing players like Pateryn.

I don't know if he'll get the chance to play but I hope so. A big right handed defensive defenceman is a good thing to have. Maybe against Florida? I'd play Kaberle against Tampa Bay since it sounds like Weber is hurt.

It's a nice reward for him in any case.

Man I hope they give him a shot and that he is good enough find a perm spot. Brings a much needed diversity to our blueline.

not at all, to me the Grabovski trade was to get rid of a rotten apple and get anything in exchange, the name didnt stick around, not saying he's a bad player, just never heard of him and never took the time to do the research on this guy

just stop being so condescending jeez, and i'm not saying that to YOU in particular, theres a lot of condescending people on this board its atrocious, I feel like i'm on a Music Board sometimes... "wow you don't know that band who played 1 set back in 1994 in front of 5 people? get a life loser I know them i'm better"
