I feel bad fot the guy. Two games only since the start of this season, and already injured. That sucks.

Had a good start... Then made 2 turnovers. One of which turned into a goal. The other into a penalty shot, which was a poor call, imo. Good thing they didn't score on that. Now he has a lower body injury.

I like the kid. But he really hasn't been showing much to want us to keep him in the lineup. I don't think we'll keep him for much longer after he's healed up.

Having Kaberle as depth and a back up is really looking good now. Oddly enough.

This guy will be in NHL for the next 10 years.
I don't think he will be as good as Streit but he will be a top-4 d-men.

At 23 years old he was on a pace of 25 points (18 points in 60 games).
That is 100th in the league in ppg (0.30) at 23 years old. Most likely 90th if you remove players with less than 20 games.

He will improve and eventually reach .5 ppg (at least).
The was 31 d-men with .5 ppg (25 if you remove the ones with less than 20 games).

I do understand that we will loose him, just hoping he does not play in the east...
Between him and Diaz, I am not sure who will play most games.

problem is he is an offensive D and he isn't great defensively. I used to be high on weber but his only real asset ishis shot. If you compare him to diaz you will see diaz is way better than weber.

He might have become better defensively with time.

He was very effective in the OHL, I think a coach called him the best D in the OHL. He could have learned and this season was going to be his chance.

He may still succeed, but it is hard to see him do so with the Habs. He will be lost to waivers/trade eventually, but given his talent he has the potential to do half as well as Hainsey, Streit, and Beauchemin.

There was a time the same thing was said about Streit.

I don't think there is a spot for Weber on the team but some of the analysis is pretty shallow

One "turnover" wasn't actually a bad play. The rest of the team wasn't coming back strongly and when he banked it off the boards our forwards sat and watched as the Canes beat them to the puck.

You can't keep a guy in the lineup if he's not in the lineup in the first place. He's been on the ice for 18 minutes in total this year. It's not a matter of keeping him the lineup as much as it is getting him in the lineup.

Agreed. He has some talent but we have better talent in the role that suits his skill set. I would prefer a big, physical defenseman as our 7th d-man. Having said that, I hope Weber gets a shot with a another team... this year has had to be a tough one for him.

Even bigger problem is he is an offensive D and he isn't great offensively....

Not convinced he's an NHL player.

If you're going to be an undersized Dman with defensive weaknesses you'd better be bringing something special somewhere else. People talk about his shot but when have we ever seen that in an effective way at nhl level?
