Cool, thanks. I don't think the Sharks can really take on anymore centers, but he seems like a guy that would work well with a Clowe or Pavelski. I dunno, it doesn't seem like it would make a ton of sense for Montreal to take a center for a center, so I'm not sure how it would work to get Eller in teal.

Reminds me of Artem Anisimov. Good on the forecheck, big, lanky, needs to put on some muscle (though I hear he did) and defensively sound. Tons of potential, always ends up in the coach's doghouse for some reason.

Low 1st, high 2nd kind of thing here.

I'd really like to get him on the Leafs. I've always liked him.

Which is even funnier since the 2nd became Subban.

a starting goalie, a top pair Dman, and a multiple season 25+ goal RW....and somehow that has been a running gag on this site....but hey, none of that was a 1st rd pick. Cause around here a 1st rd pick is always worth Gretzky ++

Once in a while, there are gem posts like the one above but unfortunately, they are too few and far between and mostly, they get ignored and buried with the other non-sense.

I highly doubt that he gets traded this year. He is signed for this and next year at only 1.325 million a year. He is on a very cap friendly contract for next season when the cap drops.

That being said if some team makes an offer that you can not refuse then the Habs can pull the trigger. I highly doubt that will happen so I would assume he will be a Hab next season.

16 goals and 28 points with relatively no PP time in it's 2nd full season is the lower end of 3rd line offense? Ok.

Yeah it is rediculous how it seems every team would like to have him but don't want to pay for him. SJ would give you Clowe right now for a third. No use to give away a quality 3rd line center for Clowe. The only center that we will trade this year is Desharnais regardless of the fact that he is french. If SJ needs SPEED, make it Desharnais and a third for their first in 2013

With 9 points in last 10 games, and Habs best player some nights, Eller is maturing into good player. Teams can kick themselves in the butt for not getting him out of Montreal when he was down.

Eller will leave this town only for a major overpayment, he's not what we need to move.

Eller-Galchenyuk are our 1-2 punch for the future. big and talented.

Why?!

Clowe is barely a shell of his former self. If he gets a third, it's an overpayment. Vlasic is integral to the Sharks defense and they haven't a real need for Plekanec. Likewise, neither do we have a need for Vlasic.

Terrible trade, mate.

I think Eller is and will be solid... so... the Canadiens should definitely move him for mid-picks.

Personally, I believe DD is getting the minutes over Eller to dangle him as trade bait...Eller is the Habs future 2nd line centre.

Why is he still getting such crappy minutes? Looks like he only got about 8 minutes last night (and still produced 1g/2a).

According to the Habs site, he got 17:18 minutes. 44 sec on the PP which produced Subban's goal, and 1:59 on the pk.
