Never ceases to amaze me how much WIP guys know about hockey. I was listening to them talk about Pronger all day and how he's being crazy "trying to make a comeback." They need to read up on the CBA and realize he is just saying that so he doesn't screw the team over.

WIP is a joke when it comes to hockey, I listen to them driving in and out of work 5 days a week so over 2 hours a day and even the guys who claim to be "hockey guys" like Macnow and Startare are completely clueless when it comes to a lot of things hockey related. I've heard that since the Fan has taken over the broadcast of Flyers games they talk about it more often but every time I switch to them they are talking Lakers or Heat. Hockey coverage in this town annoys some times.

Yeah, but point difference isn't a good metric, gotta do goals as a percentage of points G/P

33 assists is a pretty good season total though. It just looks bad when you score 59.

Of all the moves we made, I think this is the one that we end up regretting the most. For anyone who feels so inclined, go compare Bob's rookie year and 1st playoff run in Laviolette's run n gun system to Quick's stats in LA's very responsible defense-first scheme. Then be even more amazed at the fact that Bob put up better #s at a younger age, coming straight over from Russia w/ no experience on the smaller rink, and no knowledge of English. Oh, and he had to play in Philly too.

Bob is going to be a very good starting goalie in this league for a long time and we pawned him off for a 2nd and two 4ths.

90-91 Brett Hull scored 86 goals with "only" 45 assists.
89-90 he had 72 goals and 41 assists
91-92 he had 70 goals 39 assists

staggering goal to assist numbers. So Hull had Bure beat in 90-91

I actually think the point difference is a much better metric. Otherwise, you clearly have guys that have goals but no assists.

Riiiight. Without those pesky injuries Mez is the solution to the #1 spot.

Jonesy on the morning team seems to know what he's talking about. When Ang is gone and Al Morganti has to take the lead role, my ears bleed

Cataldi pisses me off too. He is just a hatemonger ha.

The Fan is pretty awful to me though. I don't know whether it's more me not liking the hosts or the fact that all the callers are stupid. It boggles my mind how little some fans know about the game and are so quick to make knee jerk reactions, like last night someone wanted to trade everyone on the team.

I just hope it isn't a panic one. This season is pretty much unsalvageable. Better not be a rental to make a push for the playoffs.

There is no playoff push. It's near impossible to sniff the 8 seed. Start retooling for the future. Get rid of dead weight and start evaluating for next season.

The only person on WIP who I can listen to talk about hockey is Rob Ellis, and even then he's only on late at night and sometime he says some things that makes me scratch my head.

That's a pretty hefty cap hit. But I guess it works for Anaheim since they don't usually spend to the cap

Holy crap. That cap hit is ridiculous in a salary cap world.

Have to think that giroux's agent might use this as a number to compare the two players. Scary to think what perry will get in the open market.

In a salary cap world where the cap drops 6 million next year, and is set to rise more slowly in the future.
