Ivanans vs. Parros

Which one do we take if we have the choice?

Ivanans is a monster who can skate and decent fighting skills. Parros, on the other hand, is improving and has some decent skills also.

Ivanans definately has the ability and experience to fight guys like Laraque and Parker, whereas those guys are out of George's league. Wonder who DL and MC stick with..

Both. One will make the team, the other will be in Manchester.

Avery centering the Parros-Ivanans line.
Kicked to the side of the road!
Sean incites a riot, the Baltic Bomber Blasts away, and George of the Jungle falls on the pile. Stella and Ursula take Ms. Cuthbert up to the snack bar to get Nachos and Sierra Nevadas.
A guy can dream can't he?

hmmm....let me see.

Could Ivanans stick with a bunch of smurfs?? No. so what makes you think that he is really going to compete for a job with Parros?? He might have the size to fight some of the dinosaurs in the league, but can he skate a regular shift? Doubt it.

Have any of the "yes he can" and "no he can't" folks actually seen him play? I haven't. What's the word? If we're gonna have several youngsters / small-ish / non-physical players on our top 2 lines, we're going to need a little more, ehm, "deterent" than we had last year in Parros.

I don't even know whether to factor in Flinn. Is his head better than Cookies'?

ps. In retrospect, that last line can be read as 2 separate jokes. Take your pick

Ivanans made the Canadiens out of camp last year so I'd say he's not an unknown commodity. Some Habs fans were talking about at least some skill level and skating ability.

He can skate, and with his size, if he can make contact with some hits, oh man.

He can skate...despite many posters' unwillingness to allow such a notion settle in their mind: HE CAN SKATE. I don't think the Hab fans would lie to us.

But apparently he can't really do much else except throw.

Now, as for the comparison to Parros, I don't know. Do you want an enforcer who can keep up with the play and that's it? Or do you want an "enforcer" who is below average in the speed department and has just enough skill for people to say "I'll take Parros because he's got more skill" but not enough to do much else with?

If Ivanis is good enough for the bigs perhaps it would be useful to keep one in the press box depending on the opponent.

How much "deterent" does any enforcer bring....?

How did Parros do against Fedoruk last year? Not too bad for a guy who has TWO seasons of fighting under his belt. I would take Parros over half the enforcers in the league (even those that beat him ) just because he can pass, shoot and skate better than they can, and that's not saying all that much.

Name me one enforcer (besides Fedoruk) who skates a regular shift, or is better on his skates than Parros.

I have seen Ivananas play...looks like he will be in Manchester, protecting the prospects...

Parros will be with the Kings unless he gets hurt. Ivanans is fast, and a decent skater, but makes Parros look like Howe with his hockey skills. I like both guys and maybe Ivanans gets a call up here or there, but he's Manchester bound.

You know, at first I was going to say I had to agree with Reaper here ... Parros will be with the Kings, but the more I thought about it ... it's more likely Parros would be in the press box anyways as I think Kostopoulos and/or Cowan would play ahead of him ... that being said, might as well let Parros continue to develop his skating skills in Manchester {as he's on a 2-way anyways}, hopefully he can improve his fighting as well and be a more complete player the year after and beyond ... if a goon "enforcer" is just going to ride the pine 99% of the time and only play when we play the Ducks or the other team dress their goon, it might as well be Ivanans, until he gets hurt, and then we call up Parros
