Makes sense. Couldn't see him going anywhere, and they couldn't afford to lose him. I'd put my guess at $6.8 million per year. Good for the Ducks. Will be interesting to see if they can get Perry signed too.

Good news for Ducks. I guess it'll be somewhere in the neighborhood of $7M/year.

Not a chance. Look at comparable numbers to Parise 6.8-7.5.

Anything less than 56 mil is a steal IMO.

The exact same as Travis freakin' Zajac? Unlikely. In the neighborhood of 6.5 or maybe even north a little would be my guess.

Will be interesting to see the deal under the new CBA...since it will end at 35 years old, not much backloading can be done. Will be an honest cap hit.

Man...It's going to suck to see Perry sign, but I can totally understand if they get that done quickly too.

Gratz to the Ducks fans.

But remember...no more Getzlaf trade rumors just means double Corey Perry proposal

Getzlaf is a beast and I'd trade just about anyone on our roster to have him pivot our 1st line.

I don't care what the money looks like, the Ducks locked up a legit stud for the next 8 years... good for them

They were UFAs and had front loaded contracts. Now teams can't heavily front load a contract like that and the cap is going down. I would also expect a hometown discount from Getzlaf.

EDIT:Nevermind lol

8.25M sounds about right...you guys know what Rick Nash signed for? Overpayment because if he left Columbus would have nothing.

Getzlaf had all the leverage..

I hope Perry wants 9M from the Ducks
