Thanks for the kind words dude.

We played pretty well against the best team in the East, some of us are rather happy with the effort from last night overall. It was nice to see Kadri show he wasn't at all intimidated (unlike some of our other guys).

Good luck the rest of the way.

The 2013 Toronto Maple Leafs remind me so much of the 2008 Boston Bruins it is scary.

They are a group of young passionate players growing together with prospects coming into their stride. Kadri is so much like a young Krejci it makes me pause at times.

The young core was in place with a number of veterans around carrying the load. Three years later, those kids were the leaders of the Cup run. Toronto is exactly where they were. Boston ended up losing in the first round to Montreal that series, but the game above was the turning point in the franchise. I am certain that Toronto will have their own 'Game Six' in the first round. Carlyle is your Julien.

As a Shwa boy born and raised I love seeing the Leafs back in the playoffs. Toronto vs. Montreal (4 vs 5) in the first round, here we come.

Just imagine had he came up a year or two ago, and been given a legit chance? He has #1 centre written all over him.

I also wanted to say that I know it can't be very fun watching Boston over the past few years, but I watch a lot of Leafs games, and you guys are finally turning a corner. There will, and I stand by it fully, be playoffs in Toronto this year. Also, I definitely like the Leafs fans on this board far more than our "friends" in Vancouver and Montreal.

Good game last night boys, and it's being shown pretty clearly to me, that no longer will the games Boston plays against you guys be a rollover. You guys definitely came to play last night, and as a fan of hockey in general, it makes it a much better game to watch.

Cheers,
Appreciate it. But wish that that the bruin fans on your board showed a little more class. Im starting to be convinced they care more about the seguin/kessel crap than most leaf fans do.

In all do respect, we should have won that game last night. Most of your team already being Canadian, while many also in the vicinity of Toronto...(Welland, Brampton, Toronto itself) its safe to say when your team goes 80% against Florida, Tampa, Pitts, they turn it up against 110% against the leafs. The way it is, and the way it will always be.

None the less, was a great game to watch last night. Awesome to be able to say we can skate/hit/fight on the same level as the B's, we just need to learn to "battle" a little better.

No other team in this entire game will ever garner more electricity than what the leafs/habs would have in just being in the playoffs! Let alone playing each other in the playoffs, let alone ever winning the stanley cup one day! For that reason alone, thats why I love my leafs and thats why I bleed blue 24/7 365.

Can anyone tell me who the Bruins were missing last night?

Nice and rested at home watching the Leafs play the Senators the night before?

It is nice to see the comments.

I look forward to the games when Lupul and Frattin are in the line-up. If Lupul is the same player he was last year, and Frattin the player he was this year, they could have been the difference makers last night.

Upgrading Steckel and Orr/McLaren with Lupul and Frattin.

IMO that is a pretty decent upgrade, although maybe you'd want to leave Orr and McLaren in and take out Kessel .

Of course they do, Kessel left their team, Seguin was never a Leaf so most leaf fans don't have any ill will towards him while most Bruins fans don't like Kessel.

The 2012-13 Leafs are certainly assembled with the likes of Colton Orr, Mark Fraser and Fraser McLaren to better compete against the usually intimating Bruins much more than ever before.

As a Leaf fan it was embarrassing watching the soft small Lombardi, Connolly, Liles players of the past get manhandled and the team dominated physically as well as on the score sheet.

A healthy Lupul and Frattin would fuel an ever greater offensive attack as well, and the emergence of Kadri helps strengthen the offense further as he is carrying the team on many nights now as its youngest player.

Leafs are beginning to give the Bruins all they can handle and gap has been narrowed significantly by the new image, and system under Carlyle.

I don't blame anyone wanting to leave a city where hockey is their 3rd most watched sport, (argument for 4th) to come to a city(Canadian city) where it is the most watched sport in this country.

The way I look at it... It is what it is! We can't dwell on it, just gotta move on. Burke is gone now and hopefully their is no more trading first round pick BS for years to come, unless we are in contention and it could give us that good push to be well over the hump.

Ill tell you one thing, I'v always liked Kessel, its exciting watching him snipe a shot, off the crossbar and in. But if their is any movement with the Corry Perry rumor, I'd do it in a second if you can lock him up.

as much as we think the bruins are so great we need to remember they currently are not too far apart from the leafs..they have a pyscological advantage that will soon be eliminated once we beat them..the bruins were eliminated in the first round last year, the year they won the cup they could have easily been eliminated in the first round against montreal (game 7 overtime) all those other years they have done little to nothing in the playoffs..the standings will show this and the tightly contested 2 games have also shown this

Line ups last night with TOI.

I really think Lupul and Frattin would have brought enough to even out the talent level. It would have taken some pressure off Kessel at the same time.

You realize the Bruins had an off day after playing 3 games in 4 nights right. So with the last game it was 4 games in 6 nights. Nice and rested. Just take a complement. The leafs are a much improved team and that's a good thing for you guys

Like I said man, half their team is friggin canadian! With a good amount of them in a radius not to far from Toronto, its hilarious.

they could go 80%/90%/100% against Pitts,Rangers,Ottawa,Philly,Was,Tampa.... but turn it up to 150% against the leafs. Thats why homegrown canadian talent will always outway the latter. Canadian boys know the history behind the leafs.

And that was our 3rd game in 4 nights with a back to back. The fact it was as close as it was with the leafs falling just short makes me question the bruins. They are not the same team that blew us out of the water 6-0, 7-0 or whatever last year.

You didn't answer the question on who is out for the Bruins?

I took a quick look, but it looks like that is their full squad.

They were rested.

Actually, the commentators last night were saying the Leafs have the most games where they play back-to-back while the 2nd. team has the previous night off.

Toronto has played 25 games that was the 21st. game for the Bruins.

Leafs have played 14 away games the Bruins 11.

Anyway you want to look at it the Bruins were rested.

Cheers,
Nice post. I wish there was a little more interaction with fans of other teams, but too many people are thin-skinned.
