That first year's lineup was pretty badass...now Green Day, Mumford & Sons and Jimmy Eat World (if the rumors are true)? It's turning/turned into just another pop festival. Which disappoints me personally, but clearly it's working for them so far, so hey.
Huh may I remind you of some the headliners back in 08 and 09... Coldplay, Jack Johnson and The Killers. Not exactly underground artists

Not surprised by the reaction of some people though. That's what music does...

Yep, I wasn't saying the trend started this year...it's clearly been going on for a while. And every year I hope they dip back to (my own personal vision, selfishly I admit) what the festival could have been.

Don't forget Pouzza Fest.

who cares how good or bad people's music is. as long their live show is blunt-smokeable; the only point of osheaga.

Outside of Evenko, smaller concert promoters such as Greenland Productions and Blue Skies Turns Black have managed to bring some great indie musicians over the past few years (with tickets usually under $30). La Sala Rossa, Corona Theatre, and of course the Metropolis are just a few of the great music venues in the city.

Surprised to see all the hate Mumfords getting around here. Besides the fact that I believe they make great music, they are incredible performers. Their concert in Montreal was one of my favorite, and that was indoors at the Bell Center, theyll be even better outdoors

At least Osheaga is better than a concert cruise.

Pop = Popular

Mumford and Sons are Folk Pop. Green Day is Pop Rock. Jimmy Eat World is... whatever.

Green Day is not Punk. Slapping on a bleeding American flag and calling the former President an idiot doesn't automatically make you punk.

I find them to be terrible all their songs sound the same and for some reason they dress like omish hipsters, they are like the new coldplay to me another band I can't stand, but hey that's me I love music and have strong opinions about crap music, music is up there with hockey for me.

No but seriously, you guys need to stop hating.
If you've only listened to "Thrift Shop", certainly I can see you not liking him.

So far it's kinda disappointing but since I won't be in Montreal, I guess it's a good thing. Hopefully we get good news on monday.

Do they normally announce the schedule at the same time? Or just the bands and then we have to wait to find out what day they're playing at? I don't care about times, just the days..

No, the schedule is released during the summer, although I believe they announce the days for the headliners... I can't quite remember.
