If we need a fourth line center I say target Boyd Gordon. I don't think we will need one though with Talbot anchoring the fourth line next year with Mcginn and Rinaldo as his linemates.

Betts was definitely. Powe... not so much. Always seen him more as a winger.

I WOULD like someone that can win faceoffs though. Still waiting for Talbot to "progress" in winning faceoffs like I was told by some last season.

He is better suited as a 4th line winger.

I agree, and Boyd Gordon is a great face off guy that can contribute some offense as well. A fourth line of Talbot-Gordon-Rinaldo would be very nice next year.

57.1% this year

Gordon might be a good choice as well. Younger than Hall and is 57.1% in draws (389 attempts).

I would love to see Brian Boyle centering Phillys 4th line. What it would cost to get him ? Leo Komarov can win face offs and play center. Dream would be something like Rinaldo-Boyle-Komarov

Torts likes him up there. Plus I doubt New York would trade with a divisional rival.

Brian Boyle? That is the Rangers Boyle right? The guy is a large marshmallow

Gordon would be great to have. I wanted Gaustad for awhile now, but the guy is just too expensive. And Talbot should be a wing, not a center.

What can you do?

Trade Talbot, Fedotenko, Gervais, and even Gagne and Meszaros, if he can get healthy, for whatever we can get.

Do it before the deadline to encourage Briere to waive too. Trade him for the best offer from a tea, he'll agree to go to. There are lots of suitors. Same for Timonen, there's no point him staying around for a mini-tank/rebuild.

Trade Kimmo to Detroit for a couple good prospects/picks and thank him for his service. He'd do great there and they need him

I love Bryz, and he's the only thing keeping us from bottoming out completely, but he could be a buyout candidate. It's easier to keep him for cap reaons if Kimmo and Briere are gone, but losing those three frees up A LOT of cap room.

We'd still have a great core of young players, some solid vets, a great goalie if we want, more assets to build for the future, and cap room to add some UFAs over the next two years.

I hope this plan doesn't need to take effect, but they better start by winning today...
Im with you bro.

We do push every year to big names, why not try to push for draft.
I would love to see some first rounders more, maybe late but still first rounders or early seconds. We have to realize our problems now and get better there. I think we dont have enough shoot first guys and defence is not so good. With trade off we could have those in few years plus space in cap to go for UFA next summer.

Please no Brian Boyle

For a guy who's 6'7 and about 250, he refuses to use his body.

What good is a "playoff performer" if his regular season play is a factor in why the team won't even sniff the playoffs?

I love Danny and appreciate all of his contributions as a Flyer over the past 5 years, but it's time he goes live with a nice family on a farm.

I may be in the minority here but I wouldn't be opposed to bringing jagr back. Maybe to take hartnells spot on the top line

You can bet your bottom dollar the Flyers will be after him. No doubt. He probably will make 9.2-9.6 on the open market, and one team driving that cost up will be us as usual. The Flyers lack a sniper and a top pairing defender. Also we need a goalie(because yes Bryz blows). Three areas we need to improve on.

I just can't see that happening. I mean 8+, but I don't know. That'd be insane.

I wouldn't even be surprised to see 10. He hit the open market, he can only sign for 7 years. He is going to get a truck load of money. It will be higher than Getzlaf almost guaranteed. The market for him will be crazy.

That would make him worth more on an annual cap basis than Crosby and Malkin

IMHO I think he can manage to get that on the free agent market and with the new CBA.

I see what your saying, and I think the team that makes that deal is going to regret it big time. He had one fantastic year, and the rest were just good. He's under a PPG for his career, and for the past 3 seasons, which actually includes his 98 point year. I don't think he's worth it, but you're probably right that someone will give it to him. Probably Homer. I just can't imagine it actually going that high though lol

Also another thing to speculate is if Anaheim does some how sign Perry, I think it would almost undoubtedly mean Ryan is out of there.
