For me although we have plenty of depth at forward position I would be very happy if we can get Maxim Afinogenov, Buffalo has already trouble seeing Brier getting big Money imagine how they react if Afinogenov gets around $4 million. we already have some cap room and we could trade one roster player along with prospect to get this done, but it would be nearly impossible knowing Buffalo is in the same conference, but after seeing afinogenov dance around the net last year I expect him to continue to dominate the league with more experience...

I'm all for trading Ryder, 2nd round pick for afinogenov only if it was possible...

Gainey won't make a other trade except if a blockbuster trade come his way and we won't have the cap room for Afinogenov who should receive 4 to 5M$ in arbitration.

I wouldn't be looking for trades. Definitely not for Afinogenov, we've already been down that path with Zednik and Bulis and Ribeiro and we might have more of that on the way already. I don't think it's an area we need to continue to add to. Somewhat inconsistent and unpredictable players who have undeniable talent are all well and good, but I think there is a critical mass that you can sustain on a team, and I think we've reached it already. I wouldn't trade Ryder for Afinogenov.

Gainey is gonna sit tight until opening night. He's not gonna be making any calls but I'm sure he may recieve them.

If we make a trade, it has to be for a Centre with offensive flair.

Inter-divisional trades never happen.

We already have Afinogenov Jr. in Perezhogin. If only Perez could score as half of his scoring chances.

Tony Hrkac.

I think we're good for now. See how this team does first, adjust later.

Funny, nobody would have wanted Afineganov a few yrs ago. He's not what we need anyway.

I'd like to see Mike "Turtle" Ribeiro replaced for a player more suited to the new nhl. I think Mike has great skills but with Sammy and Kovalev he'll need to be faster.

I agree, Ryder will not be injured this year(like last year) and play like he did in 03/04 but better being more seasoned and mature.

not to mention that ryder is younger and way cheaper.

Why would we want to add a soft older expensive player that will get similar #s.

and be a UFA after teh 1 yr contract.????

as for player coming here in a trade? im not interested in forwards, we have many young forwards that need time this year on the big club from time to time.

But not really any good Defenceman ready to be a #1 or 2 defenceman.

So i would love a trade for a top pairing defenceman. That is our biggest hole....

Trade dandeneault which has a decent salary and good defenceman and maybe a young prospect snd s pick if we have to.

But im hoping for this trade to materialize during the season, maybe at the trade deadline. A little playoff push to the Cup #25 baby

Yes, because players like LeCavalier, Richards and Staal grow on trees and are easy to trade for

I just want picks for Ribeiro and Bonk, maybe Ryder too to clear spots for prospects like Kostytsin, Latendresse, Grabovsky and Chipchura

Get Jason Allison. Big, can score. The only question is if he can skate fast enough for the "New NHL".

You mean trades like Tanguay for Leopold? Or Roloson to the Oilers? Or even Raycroft to the Leafs?
